Aqua nodded in agreement, though she couldn't help but let out a small disappointed sigh. Rationally, Aqua could see why the directions had been so vague. There was always a risk that whatever was threatening them might be watching their every move. On the other hand, perhaps Aqua was just so frustrated at the way things were going. Despite keeping a calm face in front of Rin, she was struggling with the fact that things were going so dreadfully slow. No matter how much she was prioritizing this world, the thought of her friends waiting for her was still weighing down in her mind. Aqua wanted to get to them as soon as possible. They had been waiting for her to fulfill her promise for more than ten years. It was irrational of her to expect things would be resolved smoothly and swiftly. Taking a deep breath, the girl tried to curb her frustration. "Right," Aqua said, shortly, before following after Rin. He was correct yet again. There wasn't much they could do staying in this village, and if they went now, maybe they might make it to the temple in time. The longer they stayed idle, the longer it would take to resolve all problems in this place. The longer it would take for Aqua to fulfill her long-overdue promise. The girl picked up her pace, catching up to Rin's side. There were still doubts lingering within her mind, but Aqua tried to dispel them for now. There was no use in overthinking things that might not be real.

The natives weren't paying much attention to them anymore. Though their presence still attracted a few curious eyes, they were mostly busy with their own activities, perhaps preparing for nightfall. Again, the number of armed villagers was astonishing for Aqua. It seemed like they were all prepared to fight at any given moment. It certainly was a good thing they hadn't been outright openly hostile towards Rin and herself. As good fighters as they were, the forces of the village certainly outnumbered them. The girl tried to note landmarks and potential places to stay, just in case they ended up having to backtrack. Then again, Rin made a good point earlier. They could always try to find another village. It wasn't a bad thing to be prepared, though. After a while of walking, the outskirts of the village could finally be seen. Aqua gave a small pause. "Here we go, I guess. Let's hope we find the temple before sundown," she said. The girl looked up to the sky, wondering if the sun rose in the east and set in the west in this world. She hoped it did. It would make it much more convenient to gauge the direction they were going... and prevent them from going on a wild goose-chase.

XXX - Mitzi Morris + Fioreza Scott | tags: open

Fiorenza awoke with a start, already in a cold sweat from the dream. Maternal instincts set into overdrive when she saw the child - where were their parents? - but she wasn't able to shake the eerie feeling that something was off about the little one... Something about that child sent a chill running down her spine.
She heard a delicate groan off to her right, and turned to see her fiancée lying in the sand with her arm thrown over her face. Wait... Sand? Where were they? Fiorenza had no idea, and frankly her lack of knowledge frightened her more than anything. It was almost enough to send her into an episode, she noted as her breathing began to quicken.
"Mitzi," she said softly, shaking her beloved gently. "Mitzi, darling, wake up."
A tired grumble erupted from the cat as she cracked open an eye, her grumpy gaze softening as she realized it was just Fiorenza. She sat up slowly, stretching her arms above her head and giving a satisfied grunt as her back cracked before looking to her fiancée. "Fio, love, you'll never believe the strangest dream I had..."
"The one with the child, correct?" Mitzi gave her love a confused look as Fiorenza sighed. "Take a look around, doll - I don't think we're in Kansas anymore..."

      Rin Okumura
      ───────────────────────────────────
16 Male Blue Exorcist Tagged: Aqua

Rin was entirely oblivious to Aqua's frustration. To him the vague directions weren't all too bad. If things were that straightforward things would be far too easy and there was on thing that he had already picked up on this place and that was that things weren't going to be easy. He wouldn't have it any other way. Things hadn't been easy back home so he really didn't mind the challenge though it did make him fear what might happen if he was pushed too far. Maybe the one behind this all knew their weaknesses. Was it possible that they would push them to their limits and see exactly what they would do when their backs were up against the wall? It was an interesting thing to think about. As much as Rin hoped that wasn't the case, he could see such a thing happening. Pushing the thought from his head as he heard Aqua speak up, he gave a small nod of his head. He was sure they could find the temple before sundown. "We just have to stay positive," he assured her. There was something he figured he wouldn't be able to stick to though. He really had never been the positive type. Actually, he was usually the one getting impatient. Something about this place seemed to keep him relaxed. Maybe subconsciously he was doing to because he didn't want to cause Aqua to stress as well. He wasn't even sure. He figured it would eventually catch up to him.

Clearing his mind, the half demon decided it was time to focus on the task at hand. They needed to get moving and he wasn't helping by moving so slow. Pushing himself forward, he picked up his pace. Making it to the edge of the village, he didn't hesitate to leave. There was no point in lingering at this point and he felt no desire to stay. Moving into the forest once again, Rin gave his ears a small twitch in attempt to try and pick up on any sounds that might hint at something being nearby. He didn't expect anything to be directly outside of the village, but it was better to be alert. The farther they moved away, the quieter it became. It was almost unsettling how silent the forest was. There was the occasional chirping of birds, but other than that it was eerily quiet. "I swear this place only get worse the more I begin to notice," he mumbled with a shake of his head. He figured the forest couldn't be devoid of all life given that the natives were still living, but it almost seemed as if nothing was alive. Letting a soft grunt of frustration escape his throat, it was in the moment a rustling sound caught Rin's attention and caused him to instantly perk up.

Scanning the area in silence, he failed to find anything that could have caused the sound. He was about to ask Aqua if she had heard it too when he felt his sword being yanked off his back. "What the?!" he snapped. Whipping around, he was his sword floating away yet there was no figure holding it. Was it moving on its own? No, that was impossible. Something had to be running with it. Maybe this was what the chief had been warning them about. "You don't see anything carrying my sword do you?" It was worth a shot to ask. Maybe he couldn't see what had it, but she could. It wouldn't be a concept that was foreign to him. Seeing demons was the same kind of thing actually.

      Kazuichi Soda

Looking toward the cliff, Kazuichi gave a small nod of his head. It might give them a decent view, but he doubted it would be of the whole island. It only did seem to overlook the beach. Then again there could be more that they could see from the other direction though from their current position he was sure there was a cherry blossom forest on the other end of the cliff. That might make it difficult to see anything. Deciding that there was no reason to doubt any of it, the mechanic looked back toward the boy, realizing that he had almost entirely zoned out everything that he had been saying after the decision to move to the cliff had been made. Letting an awkward chuckle escape his lips, he simply gave a small nod at the boy's finally statement. The bear from his home was a butler. It was a strange notion, but it wasn't something he figured he needed to think too much about. Part of him was starting to think that this place was not connected to either of their homes to begin with. "Right, well, I don't think talking about our homes is going to get us anywhere at this point," he began as he took a step in the direction of the cliff. "We should get moving."

It wasn't like him to take charge or even put on a brave act like he was. Actually, he was finding it difficult not to freak out right now. None of this was making any sense. To think some kid conned him into coming to this place was unbelievable. Would the same thing happen if he said no? There was no use thinking it over. He had no way of getting an answer to such a thing to begin with. Giving his head a small shake, he made his way over to the boardwalk that was built on the side of the cliff. It'd be a long way up. Kazuichi certainly wasn't looking forward to it, but it had to be done. Glancing back for a moment, he made sure Flynn was following before proceeding forward up the stairs. The farther along he got, the more tired he could feel his body getting. Was he really that out of shape? It was embarrassing. He knew he spent a lot of time sitting around fixing things, but he wouldn't have expected himself to tire so easily on stairs. Then again there were a lot of them and they were rather steep. Feeling the strain in his legs as he continued his climb, the mechanic gave a soft grunt of displeasure.

After a few minutes longer, Kazuichi reached the top. Slouching, he placed his hands on his knees as he attempted to catch his breath. "That was one hell of a climb," he grumbled to himself. Straightening his postures once again, his eyes moved to the cherry blossoms that he had seen from down below. They almost seemed to be losing their color. That was beside the point. Like he had expected, the forest made it difficult to see too much behind them, though it was easier to see what was to the east and the west. Deciding he would wait until Flynn caught up to do anything, Kazuichi allowed himself to take a seat on the ground.

Walking around in the heat messed with Blake’s senses. She wasn’t used to this weather. Back at home it was never this hot, and usually if it was AC would cool her down. No AC could be found around here, heck no decent buildings could be seen. So caught up in her thoughts she didn’t notice Natasha until the female spoke. Jumping slightly at the sound of her soft voice, Blake blinked as she just now realized there was someone standing not to far in front of her.

Great job Blake. She could have jumped you, and you wouldn’t of been prepared.’ She scolded herself. Keeping a fair distance between Natasha and herself, the werewolf listened closely to what Natasha was asking while also trying to sense any danger. So far this lady seemed fine. “No. Sorry, but I’m lost as well.” She admitted with a small shrug. “I’m assuming you’re not from around here ether?

"okay, yeah, no im not, but- uh no offense, your sweating- a lot. so lets go find water? maybe theres other people here?" nat asked, trying to think logically, yeah, she was hot, but from the missions and being in heat hours at a time it didn't really bother her anymore, or so much as you would think. "I mean- I need water too, and id like to know where the-" she cut off before a curse could escape her red lips. "ahem, um where we currently are" she said, her accent returning with the Russian accent like it did when she was either shy, embarrassed or both. "im Natasha- by the way. although I guess you could call me nat, whatever works" she added, swiftly putting the silver metal into her boot, where she could still reach it, but the other girl hopefully wouldn't catch it. "god- so help me when I get out of here- if its another one of Tony, or bruce's simulations im gonna scream" she sighed, "right! water, lets go"

Listening to Natasha, Blake looked around and frowned. No sign of water anywheres, not even the faint sound of a river could be heard by her sensitive hearing. “Mm, yeah. Water.” She replied. The werewolf was young, and as independent as she wanted to be Blake wasn’t used to being on her own. She’s jumped from pack to pack, and as stressful as that may have been she’s always had someone there to guide her. At the very least, an Alpha to look up too. The teen didn’t know Natasha well, but her air of confidence and leadership was easily recognizable. Her instincts screamed at her ‘ Alpha! Alpha! Follow! Follow, protect, listen!’ And as much as Blake didn’t want to pair off with a stranger, ignoring her instincts was basically impossible.

“I’m Blake.” She supplied, shuffling a bit closer to the older woman. The teen caught Natasha’s swift movement, but said nothing. Listening to the other females rambling about her friends, maybe family?, she nodded as Natasha began to search for water. “I’ve already scouted this way, nothing so far. All the pipes seem to be drained of something.”

Saber - Female - Straight - Fate/Stay Night - Location: Underground, Near the Center - Tags: Hajime

Saber moved towards the narrow pathway cautiously, Hajime following closely behind her. As they walked closer, two shadows seemingly appeared out of thin air. The knight immediately froze in place, hand reaching for her sword ou of habit. She noticed and dropped her hand back to her side sheepishly. The shadows eventually revealed themselves to be human beings, but something seemed off about them. She could not feel the aura of any human other than Hajime’s beside her, but the two did not appear to be Heroic Spirits, either. In fact, they didn’t even seem to have an aura at all. What was even more strange was the fact was that she recognized the second person. “Lancelot,” she hissed under her breath. “You shouldn’t even be alive right now.” It was indeed the Knight of the Round Table who had also become a Heroic Spirit after his death, standing before Saber in all his Berserker glory. However, if Lancelot was supposedly alive even after Saber had impaled him with her own sword in the previous Holy Grail War, it basically confirmed Saber’s suspicion that this was a mere illusion. This was further supported when she heard Hajime shout something and turned her head back so she could hear him. It was a warning to be cautious about the identity of the second shadow, and the boy also appeared to recognize the one in front of him that had him at knifepoint. She spun back towards the fake Lancelot with Excalibur in hand, only to feel cold metal against her own throat. She swallowed, staring at the illusion. Alright then, the weapons are real. Nice to know. Saber quickly jammed her sword against the other knight’s black one, and both of them jumped away lightly. She leveled her sword and pointed it at the shadow. “Just remember that you asked for this,” she said softly, then charged forward without warning.

The fight went on for a while, but Saber and the fake Lancelot eventually came to a standstill. Both were visibly exhausted from the long and grueling fight, and both swords were wedged into the earth. Saber wished that she couls use her Noble Phantasm to try to end it quickly, but that would be disastrous underground. The least that would happen was tear a huge hole in the earth, but the worst outcome was collapsing the seemingly fragile tunnel system and being buried alive. She was still weighing the positives and negatives when the Berserker finally opened his mouth to speak in a hoarse voice. “You...shall...not...pass...Artoria,” he said with great effort. The sound of her true name gave Saber the energy to raise her sword again. She jumped towards the wall of the underground chamber and bounced off of it, doing a somersault over the fake Lancelot’s head and landing behind him, her sword impaled in the shadow’s chest. “I’m sorry, but I have to get back home,” Saber said with finality as the illusion crumbled into ashes and faded away completely. A tear slid down her cheek. It was already hard enough that she had to kill Lancelot once in the Holy Grail War of all things, but even destroying an illusion of him could move her to tears as she was not currently fighting a war against the inhabitants of the island. She sighed and raised her sword once more turning warily towards Hajime to see if he needed help.

"here kid" she said, tossing a knife to the teen, although herself not being that much older. "im not sure whats out there, and im fairly skilled with hand to hand combat." she said, "right, well lets head.. north" she decided, pushing her way through the leaves in the path. the sun was getting higher now, and the black clothes Natasha was wearing were providing no coolness. she shrugged off her jacket, tying it around her waist. "maybe if one of us can climb a tree and see? for a higher view?" she suggested, because this wandering was doing nothing to help their situation.

      Hajime Hinata
      ───────────────────────────────────
17 Male Danganronpa 2 Tagged: Saber

Hearing the battle taking place behind him, Hajime took a deep breath as he kept his focus on the Nagito illusion before him. He knew one wrong move might end with a knife plunged into his chest even if he had a gun resting against the others forehead. It was a situation he never imagined he would be stuck especially with "Nagito" being on the other end of his gun. Even though he knew it wasn't truly him, he felt conflicted on even thinking of pulling the trigger. It seemed like a harsh way to end things and it didn't mean he would come out of the whole thing unscathed. Glancing downward at the knife, he knew that it was close enough to cause damage even if he released the trigger. The last thing he needed was a bleeding chest while he was stuck underground with no means of escape or at least no escape in sight just yet. Staying at a standstill, he listening to the clashing of swords behind him until it finally came to a stop. The result was unclear to him, but he was sure either Saber or the other figure had fallen in battle. Hopefully it was the latter. If that was really the case then he needed to make his decision. By no means did he wish to kill. Izuru had killed too many in his place and he didn't wish to add to that total now that he was Hajime once again, but he didn't seem to have much of a choice. Closing his eyes for a moment, he took a deep breath as he tried to clear his mind out and allow himself to think straight. In that moment, he felt the knife move from his chest to his throat. The cold blade against his skin sent a shiver down his spine and his eyes immediately opened.

"You're hesitating Hajime. I thought you were much more decisive than this," the illusion taunted with a smirk upon its lips. Narrowing his eyes, Hajime let a soft growl rumble in his throat. He was positive that this thing was trying to piss him off and make him pull the trigger. Was that its goal? He didn't understand why it would want to provoke him in the first place. Perhaps it was attempting to awaken that side of him that had helped cause the Tragedy years ago. Certainly if that were to happen then this place wouldn't be safe. He had to keep his emotions in check. "I've heard enough of you." As those words escaped the boy's lips, he pulled his gun back from the illusion's head and lifted a leg up to kick him back. As the illusion jerked backwards, the knife grazed his chin before it was released and fell to the ground. Ignoring the pain, Hajime lifted the gun once again and fired a single shot toward the fake Nagito's chest. Although it was off target, it was enough to cause the illusion to dissipate into thin air. Letting a sigh of relief escape his lips, he lifted his free hand to wipe the blood from his chin. The cut wasn't too bad, but it was an open wound nonetheless. He didn't have time to worry about it right now. He needed to see what had happened behind him.

Carefully turning on the small ledge, he looked toward the other side and spotted Saber standing there with her sword raised. Putting the pistol on safety, Hajime tucked it next to the other one before lifting his hand up as a gesture to tell her to be at ease."I'm fine," he said as he began moving towards her. Once he was near her once again, he took a moment to look her over. It didn't appear that she had taken any injuries like he had. That was probably for the better. Attempting to put a smile on his face, he hoped that she wouldn't noticed that he was actually in some pain. "Well, now we know that the note from before can be trusted. Hopefully we don't have to deal with anything like this going forward." If the illusions really did target them with people from their homes then he could only assume it could get worse for him. He knew he could be emotionally toyed with, especially if Chiaki was used. It worried him. Whoever was pulling the strings here obviously had a good idea of who they were and such. Someone with that kind of knowledge was incredibly dangerous. "We should keep moving though. Lingering around here might drawn more of those things."

With that, he didn't even give her time to ask if he was alright. He simply pushed forward and took the lead. Moving to the next tunnel, Hajime instantly noticed how narrow it was. Much like the stairs they had taken earlier it was a tight squeeze and his shoulders nearly brushed against the walls on both sides, but what caught his eyes was what appeared to be daylight shining through up ahead. Was it possible that en exit was near? Quickening his pace, he moved toward it. The closer he got the wider the tunnel became until it opened up into a small room. Looking around it seemed like another dead end, but as he looked up he spotted the source of the light although it was far out of reach. "Great, it was a tease," he breathed out. Deciding it was best to wait for Saber to catch up, the teen allowed himself to lean up against the wall and wait for his companion to come join him. Maybe she would have a plan for reaching the hole overhead.

Blake caught the knife with ease, although she was rather startled by the weapon. In her town people didn't tote knives around like they were chapstick, and even if they did people didn't hand them out so easily. Then again, this wasn't her town. This place didn't even look like her state. The barren waste land was a dead give away, but the smell of the stale air didn't help ether. "Oh, right. I can hold my own I guess." Blake replied with a shrug, shoving the knife into her front pocket. Truth was, Blake was very skilled in combat herself. Being raised to fight and protect herself and her pack had its advantages. However, she couldn't go around spouting this information off. Keeping a low profile was the best option. Blake did perk up at the sound of climbing and scouting. She wasn't a scout in her pack, but Blake understood the basics. "Oh! Yeah! I can do that no problem!" She chirped. Jogging over to Natasha the wolf quickly scanned the area for a tall and sturdy tree. A task much harder than originally planned. "Ah." Spotting what she was looking for, the teen jogged over to a decent sized tree. Sizing the plant up, Blake thought of the best route to the top as she slipped off her sneakers. With her feet bare, and leather jacket discarded on the ground the girl easily and swiftly climbed up the tree. She was a natural. Swinging from branch to branch, and hauling herself up until she reached the top. "Alrighty, let's see what we've got here." Yellow bled into her grey eyes, using her wolf senses she began to search for any sign of water.
