walking down the corridor towards the great hall for breakfast, albiona looked round as more and more students began to emerge. she hoped kit was okay as he didn't take her class and she'd only see him during breakfast and dinner. when rowan spoke asking her about last night, the young woman turned and nodded. "Yeah, slept like a pup. though i have to admit the morning after is usually the worst as i still feel a bit tired and not fully transformed back." she replied gesturing to her mouth and ears. her ears were still that of a wolf while her teeth were all canines. she did her best to hide her ears with her hair and her teeth well she just wouldn't smile enough to show them. "plus is still have the taste for raw meat but that's normal post change." she explained quietly. the potion works wonders. disgusting but effective." she laughed and then noticed that the professor's attention had moved to the Forbidden Forest. "something wrong?" she asked.

Rei woke up in a way that would be strange for most students, though it was a typical thing for the odd girl. She suddenly sat up straight like a person in shock after having a nightmare, sending the Pygmy Puff that had been at the foot of her bed rolling out of it with a loud squeak. Suddenly, she relapsed to a more sleepy disposition, yawning and groggily looking around. It seemed that some of the others, like Bree and Scarlett, where already awake. With a small groan, she stretched her arms before muttering a quick apology to Maki and putting the Pygmy Puff that she had kicked out of the bed back onto the comfort of the mattress. Getting off the bed, she shuffled off to get ready as if the spike of energy she displayed when first waking up had completely diminished. After getting ready and donning her Slytherin robes, she rummaged for something in her trunk. Ah, darn it. Must've accidentally left it in the common room last night, she thought. Passing by Bree who was braiding her hair, she grinned and gave a friendly little wave, that little spike of energy seeming to have returned quite randomly. "Hey, hey, Bree! Good luck for the Quidditch match today!" she said, before exiting the dorm and walking towards the common room. In the common room, she saw what she'd been looking for: a snake-head megaphone. Yes, she actually went through with that silly plan she joked about during the sorting ceremony, though she hadn't found the time to get a Parselmouth to help her with it. Seeing that Scarlett was already awake and brushing her cat, she grinned and sat down on the couch opposite to her with the snake-head megaphone in her hands. "Morning, Scarlett!" she said, cheerily. "Good luck for the Quidditch match today! Totally rooting for Slytherin even though you guys are going against Hufflepuff. See?" She held up the megaphone for Im Hwa-young to see, before proceeding to fiddle with it.

Luke had always been quite the early riser, though he had been very early this morning. It was the day of the Quidditch match and the Halloween ball. In all honesty, he was more pumped up about Quidditch than the ball. After all, he was a beater. The morning before every Quidditch match, Luke would always get a bit of exercise. Practice hitting bludgers or a nice jog would always calm his nerves. Hufflepuff was up against Slytherin, and he knew how competitive and ambitious those people were. Not that Hufflepuff had any intention of relenting either. This morning, Luke had opted for a jog. He needed to conserve his energy, after all, and it wouldn't be funny if he accidentally sprained a shoulder or something when practicing hitting bludgers. It would be a lie to say that he hadn't thought about the Halloween ball at all, though. In fact, he was a bit more nervous about the ball than the match. The match filled him with excitement and determination, but the ball made him anxious. He had put it off for quite a while, what with Quidditch practice and schoolwork. He was starting to regret that decision. Wonder if Rei has a partner yet... he thought as he decided to walk back to the dorm to clean up then go get some breakfast. Rei and Luke were often seen on friendly terms, and most people probably knew that their relationship was only friendship. However, ever since coming to Hogwarts, Rei wasn't the "freak" everyone in the Muggle world saw her. She had plenty of Slytherin friends, and from what he saw, her jokes and antics were much more well-received than they were back home. He was glad that his childhood friend had carved out a place for herself, and would be very happy for her if she did get a partner. Though, that would leave him with the additional work of finding a partner. On the way back, he saw Professor Varja heading towards the Forbidden Forest with a bit of a disgruntled look on her face. He smiled and dipped his head in greeting. "Good morning, Professor Varja," he greeted, politely. "I-is there something wrong...?"

Skylar nodded slightly, in acknowledgement. "I'm sure we'll do just fine," he said, referring to Hufflepuff playing Quidditch today. Sure, it was against the Slytherins, but he figured that they still stood a decent chance. Then, he looked slightly embarrassed when he was asked if he was going to be attending the match - he didn't plan to not go, but he did not share any of the same enthusiasms for Quidditch with many of his classmates and fellow Hufflepuffs. "Well... I will be, since Hufflepuff is playing," he admitted. He glanced off a few moments later, when he spotted that they'd crossed paths with a Gryffindor - that transfer student from Ilvermorny. Skylar couldn't quite remember his name, though. Still, he greeted the other student quietly, but warmly, "Hello..."
Something did catch his eye just moment later, though, on the noticeboard - it was a poster for that Herbology TA position that he'd heard quiet rumours about. He was curious to read it, but he knew that it would be rude to just walk off, so he stood still, deciding to wait until a little bit later.

Unable to restrain his yawn any longer, Demyan turned his head as he heard footsteps approaching. He saw the transfer student heading towards the Great Hall as well. Demyan failed to remember his name but it was quite obvious he belonged in gryffindor. With a friendly wave, Yevgeni greeted the student.
"Hey, you must be the new student. I'm Demyan Yevgeni, pleasure to meet you." he extended a hand as he continued.
"Want to walk with us to the hall?" he added simply. The hufflepuff was still half-asleep.

Ksenia weighted the pros and cons before entering the forest. She almost did, until she noticed a student approaching. Said student turned out to be Lucas. Professor Varja tried giving him a smile put her frown stayed put when she noticed Miesiac flying further away.
"Good morning young Debenham ... I. " her sentence lingered there for a moment as she heard her pet's cries. In his carelessness, the bird dropped her wand and she gave a sigh of relief.
"Yes, everything is fine now, thank you for asking. I must depart shortly, but I wish you good fortune at the Quidditch match today." she did not wish to come off as rude or uncaring but having her wand exposed like that worried her.
Ksenia retrived her beloved wand and looked after Miesiac.

he was thinking about plucking up the courage to ask someone to the ball but knowing his luck with girls whoever he asked would most likely just laugh and reject him and thus embarrassing him for the rest of his time at Hogwarts. he sighed but then heard the two hufflepuffs greet him. he looked up and gave a friendly polite smile. "um, yeah. Kitalpha Collier but everyone calls me kit. pleasure to meet you too demyan." he replied. kit was well aware of how bizzare his name was so normally introduced himself using his nickname but for some reason he just got into the habit of saying his full name. he glanced over at the hufflepuff who was in his year. "you're skylar vance right? good luck with the match later." he commented.

Ah, that was the transfer student's name. He had known it had been something quite unique (in his opinion), but it would be far better to not embarrass himself and try to guess at it. Skylar nodded slightly in response to Kit's question, and was a little further embarrassed by the fact that Kit had remembered his name. "Yes... and thank you, I appreciate that... though I'm not on the team..." he said, gently correcting the Gryffindor, just in case he had thought that he was on the Quidditch team - now that would certainly be far from what he ever wanted to do. At least it was not too far until they reached the Great Hall - he didn't realise just how hungry he was, now that he was thinking about breakfast.

Having greeted the other's as they woke, Bree finished tying the hair tie at the end of her second braid and left the dorm. As she exited the side door into the entrance hall she spotted Skylar and Deyman, two Hufflepuff's she rarely spoke to. And with them was the transfer student from Ilvermorny, that Bree had to admit to herself, was very cute. Don't make yourself a fool Bree, you still don't have a partner for the ball. What on earth will the others say about that? She bit her lip as the thought crossed her mind. Bree hadn't even talked to the boy, nor had she even really interacted with him except a few times in the library or in the corridor.

"Hey Skylar, Deyman, looking forward to the quidditch? Hufflepuff has a strong team this year." she nodded to each of the boys then turned to the third. "Breanna Fraser by the way. Your Kitalpha Collier? Your sister is Professor Collier right?"

Bree could've kicked herself for that introduction. Doesn't sound a little bit stalker-ish Bree, you eejit, she mentally told herself off, and found a mark on her sleeve to try and get rid of before anyone answered her.

Lockie had been up for a while. He had enjoyed his time as a head boy and seventh year as a whole so far. He was glad today wasn't his match. Lockie had another few days before Ravenclaw played Slytherin, and he'd been training his team well. He had however, decided to give them a week off, to relax and enjoy the next few days. Right now however, he was heading down from Ravenclaw tower to the kitchens, where the Hufflepuff dorm was located. He was hoping to catch Soomi and see if she had a partner for the ball.

Lockie could've kicked himself for leaving finding a partner this long. Though he had to admit, a combination of homework, looking after younger students and extra-curricular activities, he hadn't really put much thought to it. Reasoning that he had spent a lot of time with Soomi over the past two months or so, she would likely be in the same position. If Soomi already had a partner however if she did, Lockie hoped there would be some others needing a partner. As he headed closer to the kitchens and the Hufflepuff dorm, he could smell the bacon that was cooking. He also passed a number of Hufflepuff students who were heading to breakfast. Lockie always felt that the Hufflepuff's were early risers, so he hoped he hadn't missed Soomi.

Henry had lain in his bed for an extra half hour, cuddling his cat Blue and reading a History of Magic. So far, Henry had felt like he fit in at Hogwarts, and had made friends easily. Right now, he was excited for his first ever quidditch match. He had had some lessons in quidditch from a strict women, named Madame Hooch. Henry remembered Lockie telling him not to get on her bad side, and that she would expel anyone who didn't listen to her instructions. Henry didn't fancy trying his luck, so had tried his best to do what he was told. Henry hoped he might be as good as Lockie someday, but so far, Henry hadn't shown much more talent than much of his classmates. He had however, excelled in Herbology. Gardening was something Henry had enjoyed at home, especially since his mum managed a gardens of an old castle and had always brought him along. Magical plants however, were even better than normal muggle plants. Potions appealed to him too, since they often used ingredients that a wizard could grow themselves.

Finally getting up, Henry looked across to Aaron's bed, trying to decide whether to wake him up, so they could go to breakfast together.

He couldn’t help but feel a bit more embarrassed when Skylar mentioned that he wasn’t a member of the quidditch team and looked down for a few seconds before remembering something. Looking back up, the Gryffindor rubbed the back of his head and smiled. “I know but back home whenever we had a match of Quodpot or even quidditch we’d always wish everyone in both teams good luck even if they weren’t actually playing themselves.” He explained with a slight chuckle. “Just a habit I guess, don’t mind me.” He quickly added feeling somewhat stupid.

Just than a girl approached them and when Kit saw who it was he fell absolutely silent. It was the slytherin prefect Bree Fraser. She was here, right here in front of Kit. Right Kit come on ask her to the ball. You can do it, it’s not like you never spoken to her...oh wait you haven’t. he mentally harassed himself. He wished Parrot was with him, he walkways seemed to give the lad a boost whenever he needed it but alas he was back in his room. He was just about to ready himself to speak when Bree spoke first. “Breanna Fraser by the way. Your Kitalpha Collier? Your sister is Professor Collier right?” She’d asked and this caused Kitalpha’s face to turn pink. She knew his name? His actual name not just his nickname. Okay pal just calm down. You look like a fool right now. He took a deep breath and replied. “Yes though you can call me Kit. Albi....I mean Professor Collier is my older sister and new head of Slytherin I believe.”

More and more students filled the coridor as time passed. Demyan noticed Bree approaching and gave her a friendly wave. He watched the exchange between her and Kit and smiled briefly. He could linger around and tease these two younger students or he could leave and give them their somewhat privacy (they were in a corridor, after all).
"Well, not to be rude but I need a cup of coffee. See you around." he gave the three students a wave and quickened his pace.

Glancing over towards Bree - a fifth year Slytherin - she approached the small group, Skylar raised a hand slightly in greeting. "Thank you... it will be interesting, I guess..." he responded, cringing a little at himself for trying to sound as enthusiastic as he probably should be, but clearly failing. He looked towards Kit when he spoke again, and he shook his head slightly, "It is fine... I think it's a nice gesture," Skylar said, in an attempt to reassure Kit. He glanced between Kit and Bree, and quickly sensed something between the two - notes of nervousness, he was sure of it. Since the corridor was starting to get a little fuller, Skylar figured that he should get to breakfast before there were too many people around. "...I have to get going as well. I'll see you around, perhaps," he said, then he picked up his pace, weaving himself between other students. He would have to check that flyer on the noticeboard later.
