- salty potato.
x'xas she tromped through the marsh, nova kept trying to contact her friends.
x'xmila still hadn’t replied to her message, which was starting to equally annoy and concern her. cade wasn’t answering either, despite him being apparently unoccupied enough to pester nova in the middle of a strife just a few seconds ago. “dammit.”
x'xshe captchalogued her phone into her twerk modus. nova wasn’t in a twerking mood to retrieve it later, in the event that mila or cade finally managed to check their pesterchum and talk to her, but oh well, better suck it up and take care of that later. also she was getting a little tired of carrying around both her phone and lucille. her outfit was fine as hell but unfortunately, didn’t have a functioning pocket that was big enough for it. the struggles of wearing designer outfits. robbed of a decent pocket. maybe she could alchemize you sexy thang the soonest she could with something that has big pockets, see if that would work and give her an outfit where she can store her phone without having to captchalogue it.
x'xfor now, nova could try and see what that beacon-looking beam of light in the distance was all about. it looked pretty far, but there really wasn’t much else to do other than cower down by the little brook where she woke up next to like a little wimp and wait for that feeling of danger, which she’d already put down as something that was as much as part of the world (but didn’t really help her any either) as much as, she supposed, the eternal night was part of LODAI.
x'xvoices suddenly floated through the trees, making her flinch and jump. in the other direction, she could hear something clanking through the forest, as though someone wearing a suit of armor decided to take a merry little stroll through the marsh. on one hand, probably people, but too many. on the other hand, person. but wearing armor. nova considered her options for a minute, before striding off into the marsh and acquaint herself with the Armored Individual, keeping lucille in striking position, just in case. if they weren’t as agreeable as she would have liked, she could just hit them in the face and make a break for it to the voices, in the hope that they could take care of the Armored Individual for her. if they decided to attack her as well…well then.
x'xthe marsh was miserably wet and sticky; before long there were flecks of mud all over her and she was wet with mucky water from the knees down, but she toiled on, and she, indeed, found an Armored Individual in the marsh. nova couldn’t see the expression on their face, but she ruminated that they must be at least, if not more, uncomfortable than she. if nova decided to go stomping through a marsh she knew she’d be uncomfortable. keeping lucille in full view of the Armored Individual, in case they dared to try something (though she didn't entirely see how a wooden bat, albeit one coated in steel barbs) could be too intimidating to one covered head to toe in steel, she asked. “why are you walking in a marsh in full armor?”
