James took a deep breath, nodding slightly. "I know....the thing is....my mom didn't even come looking for me. She didn't notice I was gone...when I hadn't shown up for 5 days after that." He murmured softly.

Chris frowned and sighed, shaking her head."probably best."she replied quietly, her deep green eyes following a trail of little black ants."you dont deserve that kind of bad treatment you know, your a great guy, you need to be treated with the same compassion and resepct that you give to others."she smiled slightly at him, her eyes warm and kind.she punched him softly in the arm, grinning."you and i, we know what pain is."she shrugged."and now, we are friends."she smiled once more at him."and friends look out for each other no matter what."

James laughed softly, punching her back gently, playfully. "We should probably get back to Koori and Avalon."

Chris grinned, jumping up to her feet."race ya!"she yowled, atrting at a slow almost jog, waiting for him to react, it wasn't fair for her to get a head start.though as soon as he would run, she would bolt.

James took off at a slowish sprint, soon passing Chris. He raced down the sidewalk, coming closer to Koori and Alvalon with every step.

Chris shot after him, catching up within a few seconds.she laughed, the running seemed to take a weight off of her heart.for once she was running for joy, not to stay alive.she matched his every step, she knew that both of them were barely running at all, yet

James suddenly picked up his pace, shooting forwards faster, a grin plastered on his face. "You'll win! Your faster!" he cried, althought the wind around them tore away part of his voice.

Chris kept up with him, her long powerful strides propelling her forward."i donno!"chris called back, the wind doing the same to her voice."you were a bit of a challenge to catch yesterday!"she found herself laughing once again.this was fun.for once someone could match her pace, for once someone knew her love of running free and happy.

James grinned wider, knowing that he was probably just about her match when it came to running, but she was a little faster. He turned his face towards her, showing that he was smiling. Hearing her laughter, waas like hearing music, and it made him laugh as well.
