Chris's eyes flitted open to light filtring in through the door and cracks of the shack.she got up slowly and walked to the entrance, staring out into it with wolf like green eyes."morning already?"she whispered, smiling, it was still dim outside but the sun was rising.she smiled, this would be a perfect time to go hunting, but she would not leave james and koori alone in such a place.she was debating on waking them or waiting for them to get up.chris was used to getting up early, she had never slept in a day in her life.

James had already left, gone to sit out in the forest, afraid to wake them up. He had woken up earlier then he normally did, even before Chris, and now sat waiting in a tree, a heavy rock in his hand. His plan, get either a rabbit, or an animal. He had done this many times before.

Chris glanced back to see that james was not there.she sighed in relief, the boy was to clever to get lost, and he most likely had gone to the forest.no problem, she would track him.this also gave her a reason to leave, to go to her beloved forest.she glanced back at koori, the girl would be alright , she had avalon.chris slipped out the doorway and spotted james's tracks.it had momentarily stopped snowing....she sighed and started at a steady run down the allyways, remembering her way back.so then she would be able to get koori when she woke up.she was used to such a pace, her feet silent on the ground.she could se the forest up ahead.after a while she had entered it, the sweet familiar scents swirled around her and she smiled.this was her domain, not the city.she leaped up into a tree, drawing her knife and expertly climbed the branches, leaping from tree to tree, looking for a spot the animals might like to feed.

Jake walked through the brush in the forest he had a thin doe that he had shot over night he still drug it through the forest. When he walked into the clearing her saw a boy with a rock.[James [[Isn't that his name*I fail.]

Chis sat poised in a tree, glancing over to see a shadowy figure near by, a closer look told her it was james.he sat perfectly still, a good sized rock in his hand.chris grinned.'good, he's a hunter too.'

Out of the corner of James' brown eyes, he caught a moving figure. It was to big to be an animal he could kill, and to strange of a shape to be a deer, or bigger animal. It was Chris. He smiled softly, glad that he wasn't alone, even if the forest was mostly his domain. Chris was proably more acustomed to this kind of life then him. Suddenly, a large rabbit burst from the under growth. He tensed, balancing the rock in his hand. Aiming with his left arm, he snapped his right arm forward, and heard, rather then saw, the thump of the rabbit's skull being crushed.

chris grinned at his excellent hit and nodded to him, the smile still on her face.she quietly lept through the trees, coming to stop right next to james on the branch.her movements were fluent and quick."nice shot."she breathed, looking down at the rabbit.chris thought about going to get it for him as a friendly gesture, but hesitated, waiting for james to do what he thought he should do, it was his kill.she frowned, she had not a bow and arrow with her, like the one she had back at her old forest...all she had was a knife, and sh wasn't sure if she could get in close enough range for a deer.chris thought about it for a moment, deciding that she would try and make one.it would be time consooming but that's what it would take to get food, to survive.
