You were out on a freezing December night. The stars were hidden behind ominous clouds. You hear screams coming from the streets. Suddenly a large, muscular man grabs you by your shoulder and starts to drag you along the sidewalk. You try to fight back. You kick, you punch, and you even bite, but he simply won't let go. The man pushes you into a shiny black car and shuts the door. He drives you into an abandoned town. As you look out of the window, you see other teenagers like you, shivering as snow starts to cover the ground. You shut your eyes as soon as you catch the sight of a dead girl, lying on the sidewalk. She was wearing a sweater and jeans, but it was obviously not enough to keep her warm. The car abruptly stops and you open your eyes. The man shoves you out of the car and races out of the streets. You look around to see dark roads and run down abandoned homes. You hear footsteps and see others. As you smile at the thought of not being alone, they fade away into the shadows. Welcome to the town of Forgotten Souls.
You, a teenager living in a small town on the edge of New York City, are a Forgotten Child. A second child. The extra, the unwanted. Having a family with more than one child has been banned, and it is illegal across the whole world. Now you, the Forgotten, have been sent to the Town of Forgotten Souls. It is the city of ghosts. Now you have a choice; Try to survive on your own in this abandoned town in the middle of a freezing winter or get help from the ghosts. Now mind you, the ghosts aren't always friendly.
So, in general, you are either a ghost that now has to let humans live in your home or a teenager (ages 13-17) who has been thrown out of your home for being the second-born.
