Approaching the post office gave Christolph a deep sense of contentment like he'd been on an extensive and quite exhausting quest. The modestly sized building had indeed incorporated various types of architecture as if it had been expanded during the years, but he didn't analyze it too much. His drive to get inside was halted by a group of little old biddies slowly making their way out the doors at a snail's pace; chattering amongst themselves like a proper assortment of hens. His attention turned to Hunter who was approaching a large box with a shiny exterior that was at least six feet high.
Christolph noticed buttons on the outside of this strange box, and then he watched as Hunter inserted a coin into a slot, pushed one of the buttons, and then in less than a second a bottle rumbled down to a shoot at the bottom. When handed the water, Christolph was still mesmerized by the machine to say anything. He was a man for details, not necessarily inclined towards machinery, but perplexed and curious enough to ponder how the box worked. Had he been more mechanical, Christolph probably would have tried to force the vending machine open...it was for the best that he was not.
"Thank you..." He wasn't sure how to respond when the bottle was clear like glass but flexible, and not to mention cold...very cold. Christolph came from a time period where frigerators were still under development (and available only to the wealthy or commercial), iceboxes were commonly used, but he never expected to see something of such caliber sitting on the street for public use. Not to mention that his knowledge of plastic was limited since during his time it was still being toyed with by scientists. Christolph finished examining the bottle by opening it and taking a long drink until it was entirely empty and then tossing it into a nearby trashcan. "Blood has a lot of vasser in it, so mein body can handle it." Speaking in a low tone, Christolph felt his internal temperature lower dramatically due to the drink, and he removed his sunglasses so that he could look directly into Hunter's eyes.
"It vos not in mein expectations to receive such kindness...I vill not forget it."
