[Dragoness]

Kekoa smiled at the wolf, then the cat in the flames. There was and elegance to that thought. He mulled it over in his head. The sun was well into setting if not far past it. He sighed deeply and put his hands behind his head, leaning back and closing his eyes. Not sleeping, but he looked like it.

[Mystic Starsong]

Suki hummed quietly, trying to not disturb Kekoa as she shaped the flames. She created a horse, then an eagle, then a horse with an eagle's wings. "Deep in the meadow, under the willow, a bed of grass, a soft green pillow..." She sang quietly, creating the images in the fire as she sang. The meadow, or the best she could imagine, a Willow tree, once described to her by one of the newer people from Edyl... She trailed off at the end of the song, leaning back against the bed and letting the flames resume their normal flickering and jumping.

[Dragoness]

Kekoa heard the soft little song and without moving or opening his eyes began to sing in a deep, melodious voice that seemed to ripple like water.
A little fairy comes at night,
her eyes are blue and her hair is brown
With silver spots upon her wings
And from the moon she flutters down.
She has a little silver wand
And when a good child goes to bed
She waves a hand from right to the left
And makes a circle round its head.
And then it dreams of pleasant things,
Of fountains filled with fairy fish
And trees that bear delicious fruit
And bow their branches at a wish.
Of arbors filled with dainty scents,
From lovely flowers that never fade,
Bright flies that glitter in the sun
And glow-worms shining in the shade
And talking birds with gifted tongues
For singing songs and telling tales
And pretty dwarfs to show the way
Through fairy hills and fairy dales...
His voice trailed off when he finished the song and he said "that's what mother sang to me when I was little." He didn't know why he'd need to sing it. Maybe for the comfort against all this change.

[Mystic Starsong]

"That's nice." Suki said softly, smiling as she leaned back against the bed. She inched a little closer to Kekoa, their arms brushing against each other lightly. "My mom taught me a lot of songs, but the one I sang was always my favorite." She added, glancing over at him.

[Dragoness]

Kekoa met her eyes with his honest blue ones. Open and thoughtful as always "To be honest I didn't recognize it. What was it?"

[Mystic Starsong]

"I don't really know. Just some song my mother had sung to me, her mother had sung to her, and her mother before that." Suki said. Their arms bumped again as she shrugged.His eyes were so nice, so beautiful in the flickering light. She looked down, trying to hide the blush that had crept back into her cheeks.

[Dragoness]

Kekoa nodded "My mother taught me many different songs." He said. Still watching Suki. "But that was the only one she ever really sung." He smiled sadly "She has a voice like a lark you know, my two sisters do too." There was pride in his tone. And a little sorrow.

[Mystic Starsong]

"That's nice. Why didn't they come with you out here?" Suki asked, knowing the question was probably a bit personal, but she was honestly curious. Her family had left, just because she had gotten caught. Even her Aunt had come along.

[Dragoness]

Kekoa sighed deeply and stared hard at the ceiling. "My parents aren't exactly strong anymore and my siblings are young. I didn't know what was out here so I didn't want to risk them. I told them to stay behind."

[Mystic Starsong]

Suki nodded in agreement. "That was probably a good idea. It was pure luck I just happened to come along at the right moment to save you. It could have been at least a few more days before anyone checked again." She admitted.
