~The Keeping: Colors of Entropy ~ (Elemental RP-Accepting)

[Mystic Starsong]

((Once in a while, I will post somthing that applies to everyone. Like if weather is changing dramatically in the outer colony, or if it is one of the super-rare sunny days. Inside the colony, there will sometimes be small storms, but most of the time they only happen during the evening/nighttime.))
The thunderclouds boomed as lightning struck near the outer colony. A new storm was rolling in. The winds picked up, howling through the mountains and whipping around the colony. There was another boom as lightning struck again, even closer. The snow came down sideways, making it almost impossible to see anything more than 5 feet away, and the giant flakes piled up quickly, adding inches of new snow onto the already-frozen ground.((Of course, if your character is outside the colony at the moment, this is a problem for them, but it takes a little while for the storm to roll in, so you can get them inside if you need to.))

"The fireplace opens into the bedroom, so it stays warmer than the rest of the house. The table and couch out here were both made in the colony, using resources from inside the walls, of couse." Suki said, running her hand over the wooden tabletop. She jumped as the thunder boomed, the sound of it echoing through the colony. She peeked out the windows, noticing that what people she could see were quickly hurrying to their own homes. "A storm's coming in. A big one." She said sadly. No more adventuring for her today.

[Dragoness]

Kekoa peered out the window and said "I heard a guard talking about white out blizzards once. Is that what's blowing in?" He looked at the quickly darkening sky and added "You said there was firewood? I think I'm going to need it."


Adura looked at the sky a swore. Taking off at a jog. She needed to be back before the storm hit. She got to the colony gates in n o time and headed right for her little home near the colonies center.

Skye noticed the wind picking up. He was glad he was able to hollow out a small section of the mountain for his memorial garden, but he still had to make sure it was safe. Rioku hadn't returned to the shelter, sending SKye a message that he had hidden out in the colony to wait out the storm. With a light breath, Skye strode out into the wind, holding his hat to his head with his gloved hand and made his way to the passage he had made behind an old withered tree.

[Mystic Starsong]

"Nope, nothing like that." Suki said, smiling slightly. "These are much, much worse. Winds that could make a person like you or I fly through the air like leaves, snow that doesn't let up for days, and absolutly no visibility what-so-ever." She said, her tone darkening as she went on. She walked over to a small closet and opened up the door, revealing a stack of firewood as tall as she was. "They always keep emergency stacks of wood in each house for storms like these. There are also some plain food that doesn't go bad for a long time in the cupboard near the table. It doesn't taste very good, but it works in a pinch." She added, grabbbing an armload of firewood and walking into the bedroom.

Kekoa followed her a bit like a lost puppy. He wasn't really sure what to think. "Does this really look that bad?" He said. Worried. He felt like he should be out checking to make sure everyone was inside and well. Even if he didn't know them. This was his home now, he felt obligated to protect the people here as he had his family.


Adura slipped into her house just as the winds really picked up. Wailing past the door and windows like a hungry beast. Adura sighed. Eyes glittering. Let the boredom begin.

[Mystic Starsong]

"Yep. We've had worse though. All the buildings here are build specially so they won't collapse under the weight of the snow, or get blown over by the winds." Suki said, dropping the stack of logs into the fireplace. She doubted she could get home safely now, plus she didn't want to leave Kekoa alone since he was so nervous. Suki leaned the logs against each other and made a fireball underneath them, starting the fire. She ran and grabbed a few more logs and set them next to the fireplace. "We should probably close the door, to keep the warmth in here instead of spreading it all around the house." She suggested, sitting in front of the fireplace and leaning back against the bed. She added a little more power to the fire, to help it warm up faster, then stopped herself. They didn't want to use up all their fuel too fast. On her own, without logs or stuff to burn, Suki could probably keep them warm for a few hours, even up to a full day, but a muli-day storm would be almost impossible.

Kekoa looked out the front window again then went to sit next to Suki, shutting the door behind him. He hoped very out there had gotten inside. "How long do you think it will last?" He asked. Leaning his head back against the bed.

[Mystic Starsong]

"You never can really tell. This could blow over in a few hours, but I highly doubt it. Most likely, this storm will last a day, maybe two." Suki said, making an educated guess. It was never easy to tell, but she had been there for so long, she could make more accurate guesses than most.

Kekoa nodded. "Alright. He looked over at Suki. The firelight lit her face and body in pleasant ways. He chased the distraction away and looked back at the ceiling, wondering what to do with him self.

Suki glanced over at Kekoa, noticing for the first time how handsome he really was. She blushed lightly and glanced away, not replying. What would they do? Especially if the storm lasted two whole days. The thoughts ran through her head as her blush slowly subsided. She turned back to the fire, closing her eyes and watching the general shape of the flickering fire through her eyelids. She sighed happily, relaxing against the bed. She opened her eyes and focused on the flames, shaping one carefully. It was a wolf, a strong proud looking wolf, it's head raised high in song. It changed, morphing into the sleek shape of a rockcat. She laughed, this new way of using her powers delighting her.

((Remember in Narnia; The Lion,the Witch,and the Wardrobe movie, where the flames turned into shapes as Lucy was falling asleep? This is kinda like that.))
