{Sky and Senna, we'll be having our characters move in your direction so they can "coincidentally" meet with Felix and Fabe, just so the whole group can finally get together. }
Shade could sense irritation radiating from Elle and cast her a soft, warning glance. He wasn't so bothered by Cecilia's unpredictability; her spontaneous actions were intriguing and more than a little humorous. He stared at her sleeping body at his feet, tracing the strands of her green hair as they haloed around her head.
Josiah's voice snapped him from his thoughts and he grinned, nodding to the other boy. "It's a pleasure to meet you Josiah. If you could carry her, that would be great. To tell you the truth, I think she knows more than she lets on, so I'm not too worried about her missing out on the impending conversation if she doesn't wake up." He lightly brushed back his crimson hair with a slender hand, already beginning to move.
Glancing back at Lucio and Elle, he said, "You two coming? We have that...err...thing to deal with too, so we better get moving." He smiled crookedly, the expression comical, but also full of anticipation and excitement. It seemed that he wasn't afraid of their imminent encounter with the so called "thing" in the downtown area. Instead, he seemed eager to face it.
Shade's slim legs carried him quickly, his striped shirt once more revealing the pale skin of his shoulder, neck, and collarbone. HIs icy blue eyes were bright and relatively calm, but held a slight fringe of tension. The weight of what he was about to load onto Josiah was enough to make him anxious.
"Well, basically, you are one of eleven "special" people who have been marked and destined to save the world. It is up to you, me, Lucio, Elle, and Cecilia, along with the others, to find eleven ancient gems, all of which fit into eleven separate holes on the gate of life. Already, as it is clear to the eye," He paused, motioning to the crumbling, gray buildings and cracked cement. "This world has pretty much met its limit. It's a rotting shell of what it once was. It is up to us, the eleven, to open the gates of life once more so the world can be reborn." He allowed another pause, letting his words sink in before he continued. "Now, each one of us has a different ability, all of which, when combined, will be able to give us the skills we need to track down, find, and retain the gems. We will be faced with many challenges and tests of our courage and will, so you must make the decision to join us on your own."
Shade's speed increased, as though driven by some unseen force. A tug in his heart alerted him. Nevertheless, he kept talking. "My particular ability, is rapid evolution. If I get injured, the next time a similar circumstance occurs, I won't be injured. For example," He said, pulling out a small pin. Without hesitating, he jabbed himself in the hand, sending the pin in about three centimeters deep. He winced slightly and pulled it out quickly. Almost instantly, a bead of crimson blood welled up and over, spilling into the palm of his hands. He wiped it away so the hole of the wound could be seen. Then, he took the pin again, and poked himself once more, but in a different area, only this time, it wouldn't puncture his skin.
"Right there is an example of my ability. No matter how hard I jab myself, my skin has adapted to the sharpness, texture, and damage that a pin possesses. I won't be able to ever be harmed by a pin again." Shade explained, grinning broadly. His smile faded a little. "So, what do you think? I know this is a lot, but we're running out of time."
