Sonja stalked past Ei to stand directly in front of Shax, and prodded his chest sharply with an accusing finger as she snarled, "I do mind, if you're so keen to know." In her anger, the girl appeared taller than she truly was, and her arching brows had snapped together in a scowl. "This house, this tiny plot of land, it's not much. But if a few stupid humans and a rich halfling think they can make me leave, they're wrong." She bared her teeth as she added, "Dead wrong." The girl's voice became frighteningly sharp, her accusing words dripping with fury. "Shax Reace, I don't care who you are, or who you tell us you are, but this is your fault. So I want you to get out of here, right now."

Eli shifted his weight uneasily. He didn't like where this was going. He took a step over to Sonja. He hesitated a moment, and then put his hand on one of her delicate shoulders. The second his skin touched her's he could feel the burning fury within her. "Sonja." he whispered to her. "It's alright. No one will take you off of your land unless you want to go on your own." he reassured her. He then looked up at Shax, his caramel eyes showing a mix of emotions that not even he could explain. "Shax, I'd like to thank you for saving me from that explosion," he said in a calm voice "but I think right now we just all want to go to sleep. We will discuss things in the morning and if things seem smoother, then we will talk to you." He then looked back down at the the enraged Sonja, his hand still resting on her shoulder. "Is that alright with you Sonja?" he asked her, his voice calm and reassuring.

"Once again I will say I am sorry, I will call again tomorrow to see how you and If you want to come with me." Shax said, as a huge black limo, surrounded by black Land Rovers, came to a halt next to him. A armed guard opened the Limo's door for Shax and he got in. The guard then went back to one of the Land Rovers, and the line of heavily armed black cars started off.

"No, no jewels in this one sadly." Jasmine said, grabbing a torch off the wall and turning it on.

Sonja's brown eyes flickered angrily to Eli for a moment, her short eyelashes and pointed nose exuding a sincere 'I-don't-give-a-d*mn-so-leave-me-alone' vibe. She flinched when the cars roared up and turned to watch as Shax got into one, then stood back to let the armored parade pass. When they had turned a bend in the road and rumbled out of sight, Sonja seemed to almost shrink into herself. She leaned precariously against Eli and tried to keep her eyes from slipping shut, and to her dismay, tears began to roll slowly down her cheeks, cutting smudgy trails in the black, greasy layer of grime that had settled on everything since the explosion.

Eli didn't flinch at the look that Sonja gave him and when her eyes went back to watching the cars, he did too. He nodded to Shax and thanked him again before he had disappeared into the armored vehicles and sped away. Suddenly, he felt a Sonja's body begin to relax and it wasn't long until tears were falling over her dirt covered cheeks and onto the charred ground. Eli took her up into his arms, creating a sheild from the world around them as if she were a rare beauty, not fit for naive eyes. In fact, that was what she was. She was a halfling. Something that was rare, yet common; beautiful, yet ugly and he loved all of it. It was so unique to him. He sighed and then carefully tilted Sonja's chin upward so that his caramel eyes were now looking into her brown ones. He watched as a tear escaped one of her eyes and without moving anything but his thumb, whiped it away. He still continued to hold her close to him with the other arm, almost steadying her as well. "Shhh..." he cooed gently to her. "It's alright now. Let's go back to your house and just sleep for a while." He continued to talk like this to her in a gentle tone, hoping that she would calm down.

Sonja smiled shakily through her tears, glad simply to have someone on her side. Usually it was lined up, everyone verses her, but now at least, she had an ally. A friend. For the second time that day, Sonja pulled Eli into a hug, her arms around his middle, face pressed into his shirt. She was ashamed to be acting like a child, but the shame was nothing compared to the simple peace of this moment.

(I am extremely sorry for not posting in so long! Again, my life has been hectic. When I had the chance to get on, I was slightly overwhelmed by the new RP style I made up. Still, I am going to stick with it. I will be here soon, and hopefully I will be able to get on tomorrow. I'll try to get a few posts in then.

I also have a cold -- so that means I might be able to stay on for a little while. Please forgive me for the inactivity. Again, I will get on when I have the chance. Do not expect a post tonight unless I sneak on, like I just did.

I also appolagise if my characters were needed through the time I could not be here.

Isabelle studied Jackson for a moment. "It sounds like he did something to make someone think he's bad and you're trying to make him sound good, though I've never even met him." She said in a toneless voice. The way he spoke about his adopted brother made her curious, though. "And this friend of yours lets his blind brother wander the streets when- shall I mention it again- people are out for his blood?" She tsked and crouched on the ground, her gaze flickering around the shadowy room occasionally. "Have you ever wanted to read?" Iz suddenly asked.

"No he just is not like me, you know I like everyone even if they have wings and claws or shot lasers out of their eyes, we are all alike inside, we all have a heart and a brain and somehow sustain ourselves by eating drinking and sleeping" Jackson said. "But he does not see it that way, he does not like halflings and so I hate admitting it and even though he is so judgmental he is someone you can find something to like about him. He loves the thrill of hovering between life and death, the fall in cliff diving the weak rope drop in bunggie jumping, he is so reckless I worry but he is also trying his best to not drag people under with him you know?" Jackson said the way he said it was like he was telling the truth. "He hates it as much as anyone else who hates it but he knows that it is also my way of feeling like I am a part of this world and not some outsider" Jackson explained. "I used to be able to read and I miss it, but I can read once I know how to read brail but it never seemed like it would be the same and so I never bothered" Jackson said softly.

Chance sighed. "That's probably a better thing." He murmured to himself. His gaze found the torch once it came to life. He watched the flickering flames for a moment, then followed after Jasmine. "What's there, then?"

Isabelle listened to Jackson curiously as he spoke about his friend. She wasn't sure why he was talking about his brother, though it seemed to be a subject he liked, or something. She didn't say anything for a moment, just studied the floor as if she'd never noticed it before. She wondered what it would be like to have a sibling- her father had stayed for so long, maybe he'd have taught her sibling the same things he'd taught her. Where was he, anyway? She frowned and closed her eyes. "Your brother has a different outlook on life." She said thoughtfully, though it wasn't a question. She actually wasn't really sure what to say in response to that. "You don't know where he is now?"
