Pepper Ridge (No Longer Accepting)

Rachelle fel linto a chair, realizing with some shock that her nose was bleeding. The surprise didn't register on her pale face, just pain.

(((I'm thinkin that since no one heard it who wasn't directly targeted it was an in the mind thing, so Kylar's actual ears should be good, just his head is all fudged up. )))

Aria knelt beside Kylar and, thinking about what would make her, not necessarilly him, feel better, she took his hand carefully in both of hers. "Kylar?"

[Erik gently wiped her nose, "It's okay." he said softly as he studied her worriedly, "We are safe now."

((Welll Erik doesn't know that XD))

"Let go." Kylar groaned, his head was killing him, "Don't touch me."

Rachelle nodded, her actions slow as if sleepy. "Yes," she said, "I know. It's my head, it's got a heart beat and a sword." She closed her eyes for a minute or two.

Aria sighed and nodded, dropping his hand at once. Her own head was aching faintly, as if she'd been in the dehydrating sun all day, but she knew she could manage even though it was putting her in a less than angelic mood. "Then get yourself to the cot," she grumbled, sounding something like a mother with a whiny five year old.

He picked her up and laid her on the bed, dabbing at her nose, "It's okay." he said softly, "Just sleep." he told her.

Kylar just closed his eyes and rested his arm over his face to block out the light, his head hurt like hell.

Rachelle nodded, but her head hurt badly enough that she aasn't sure she could sleep.

Aria sighed and crossed her arms. "Well, if you won't get up and I can't help you then you'll have to stay down there," she said. She shook her head, which was still mildly aching. "Well, shall I bring you a pillow and blanket or would you accept Erik's help getting off the floor before you catch your death?"
"Aria," Rachelle said.
"What?"
"Sing for me, please," she said quietly. "Something low, smooth, and soft."

Erik sat by her, he hummed softly and stroked her hair softly, "Beautiful."

"I am fine here." Kylar said coldly as he laid there, his head was killing him.

Rachelle turned into his touch and sighed, listening to his voice and clinging to the melody like a lifeline in her jumbled mind.
Aria sighed and went to the cot. She grabbed a blanket and pillow from it and dragged them up into her arms. Then she went back across the floor, her feet light, and stopped beside Kylar. She knelt and gingerly lifted his head and slid the pillow under it, quickly so he qouldn't have time to object. Then she stood and draped the blanket over him, covering his face as well as his feet and everything between. "Fine then," she said, her voice sounding more compassionate and concerned than anything else, "be stubborn." She heard Erik's song and recognized it. She started to softly hum a harmonized version as she stood up and dimmed the lights before she went to the pillowless cot.

Erik glancced over at her and relaxed as he sat n the floor by his love.

"Erik," Rachelle sighed his name, "come up here with me." Her voice was soft, smooth, and barely more than a whisper but her head still throbbed because of it.

Aria watched Rachelle and Erik and a pang of jealousy twisted her stomach for a brief moment, then she curled up around Gabrielle, who seemed in pain due to her grumpy attitude and slow movements. She turned her face against the cot and slipped into sleep with her cloak pulled over her body and the cat.

Erik looked over at her, he got up and pulled her close, he hummed softly as he held her.
