Asylum (Semi Lit)

Ronan noticed how Axel was arguing with himself again, but then again, he did so a lot. She turned her attention to Verran. It took her a few minutes to notice how he kept glancing at Axel, like he was keeping an eye on him or expecting him to do something. She wondered what, but didn't ask him. Xero walked with the others, but his eyes kept wandering around, like he didn't even know what everyone else was doing.

Axel suddenly turned quickly, and Verran grabbed his arms, pinning him to the ground. "Drop the gun, Axel." He hissed in his ear, "Drop it now." Axel grinned, "I'm not Axel." "Damn it, Rex." He hissed, glancing back at Ronan and Xero. "Ronan, they have a knife and a gun in their coat, I need you to get them for me."

Ronan hesitated, confused at first. She walked over to Axel and Verran, though, and knelt down, searching Axel's coat for the knife and gun. "Uh, care to explain some of this?" she asked, utterly confused.

"When Rex is in control, he's dangerous to everybody." Verran said, staring down at Axel. "I'm right here, you know." Rex said with a smirk. This wasn't good, he didn't like it when Rex had full control, he was the more dangerous part of Axel's mind.

Ronan found the gun, and started searching for the knife. "Uh, Rex, what do you want?" she asked. "Can't you let Axel come back?" She really didn't know what to say. After all, she had only met them a day ago, and some things about them still confused her.

Rex laughed, smiling. "Of course not, where would be the fun in that?" Verran sighed, "We just need to get to L.A. Then we can check into a hotel, and we should be safe there for a few days." This wasn't going according to plan, and it ticked him off.

Ronan nodded. "Alright, but what about Axel and Rex?" she asked. Seeing how Rex was acting, she didn't really want to be close to him, or even asleep with him around.(ugh, wb)

"I've got it." He said, taking the gun and holding it to Axel's head. He took it off the safty, keeping it there for a minute, his finger pulling on the trigged. "Rex, I need you to go away for a while." Rex smiled, "And what if I don't." Verran's finger pulled back a little bit more on the trigger. Rex's eyes widened, and suddenly, the pupil wasn't so sharp anymore, the eyes closing slightly. "Verran, what the heck are you doing?" Verran got up, letting Axel off the ground, wiping himself up. "Mission accomplished." He said, deciding to keep the gun. He looked over at Ronan. "You go ahead and keep that knife."

Ronan nodded hesitantly. "Er, okay?" she said uncertainly, glancing down at the knife in her hand. She wondered for a second if Verran really would have shot his brother. Knowing him, even if it was just for a day, she wasn't sure if he would or wouldn't.

Xero had watched part of what happened, but had lost interest and walked around for a while, staying close to the others. Now, he was a few feet away, petting a stray cat. "Hm, this thing looks a little weird," he said, looking down at the cat, which seemed very tame - possibly someone's pet. "What is it?"

Verran looked over, "It's a cat." He saidd softly, looking at it. Axel, who was slowly recovering from whatever had just happened, sighed. That had scared him to death.
