Asylum (Semi Lit)

Postby Simply Emotional » Thu Nov 18, 2010 1:01 pm

You're trapped. You know why you are here, and you know that you can't escape. Though, somewhere in these dark halls there is a way out, the light is still shining. Weather it was murder, death, sorrow, or pain everything is your fault. That is what they always tell you. They're abusive, they beat you while you're down, they can't help you. They try, they say, but they don't really. This Asylum is a cover up for what is truly going on behind closed doors. You're here because you're a 'danger', you're here because if you were let out you would cause madness to everything and everyone around you. You realize though, that while you're here, your mind begins to wander, and you're thoughts are changing. You learn not to want to leave, for if you do, you are scared of what lays beyond the doors.

Now, join us, learn how we feel while we are trapped behind these bars.
Soon enough you will see that there is something more to this darkness we hide in.
Because even if you say we are crazy,
Even if you say you are afraid,
In the end we are always more sane than you will ever be.

(Aw, man. I already reached the limit. Oh well XD)

Name: Raiden Sagan
Age: 18
Date Admitted: March 5th
Age Admitted: 13
History(Why they are there): He never talked, and some people thought he was crazy because sometimes he would tell someone that they would die soon, and he was always right. Also, he has attempted suicide a few times. His parents saw him as a threat for some reason, so they sent him to the asylum, not knowing what it truly was
Family/Siblings admitted(If any):
Crush: none
Disorder(If any): He never talks, and is usually alone. He seems very hollow inside. When he does talk, it's usually in riddles. Sometimes he tells someone they're going to die, and it usually comes true. He can't tell people's emotions apart, and usually has to guess how they were feeling. It's also hard for him to express emotion
Picture(If wanted): He has dark brown hair that ends at the middle of his neck in the back. It is a little long, but not so much that it's noticeable. He has icy blue eyes framed by rather long lashes and ivory skin. He's of medium height for his age, and usually wears a plain-colored sweatshirt and jeans
Clicky!

Name: Xero Landon
Age: 12
Date Admitted: January 1st
Age Admitted: 8
History(Why they are there): Unknown, even to himself. He can't remember why he was put into the asylum; it's all a blur to him
Family/Siblings admitted(If any): Unknown
Crush: None
Disorder(If any): He's bipolar, switching from angry to sad to happy in a flash, laughs a lot, sometimes crazily, and is prone to having flashbacks but not remember any of them. He sleepwalks practically every night and carries around a doll, talking to it sometimes
Picture(If wanted): He has dark, wavy red hair that's almost to the point of curliness. His eyes are different colors; his left is blue-green, while his right one is a reddish-brown, like red wine

Name: Ronan Toru
Age: 16
Date Admitted: December 25th
Age Admitted: 10
History(Why they are there): She and her friend were being driven home by her friend's mom when they got into an accident. The car flipped over, and Ronan was the only person who survived the accident. However, everyone says that she hasn't been the same then; that her personality is completely different. Ronan doesn't remember ever having a different personality, and denied it whenever someone brought it up. Because of this, she was put into the asylum
Family/Siblings admitted(If any):
Crush: none
Disorder(If any): Apparently, since the accident she has developed a different personality than the one she had before. She denies it everytime, though. She isn't really insane and wonders why they put her in the asylum

Axel sat in his cell, whispering random words into the air. He whispered them frantically, rocking back and forth, his eyes wide open. He had been here for so long, that he no longer felt the need to leave. "Rex and I are happy here..." He murmered, continuing to rock.

Verran sighed, walking down the hall. His hands twitched restlessly, ha had been her for a long time, he was always on gaurs. As he passed by the cells, he glanced inside of them, the gaurds continuing to push him down the hall. He hated them. The gaurds. They always pushed him, and he was getting sick of it, bitting back menacing words in his throat.
I don't want you to fade. Let me hear, even a sigh. A small heartbeat, that isn't there.

Re: Asylum (Semi Lit)

Raiden sat in the cold, dark corner of his cell. His knees were pulled close to his chest as he glanced through the cage bars that kept him there. That kept him from escaping. Or, at least, that's what he told himself. The cage bars were the ones preventing him from running away, not the cruel fact that he didn't want to leave. Why didn't he, again? After all, the guards were abusive and Hard To Read. But then again, everyone was. Raiden spent every day after boring day sitting there, almost never leaving his corner, the farthest place away from the guards he could get inside the tiny box of a "home" they gave him.

He buried his face in his arms, making himself appear like an out-of-place shadow against the stone gray walls. His dark brown hair and gray sweatshirt helped him hide. It helped him feel invisible, which was exactly what he wanted to feel. The only feeling he could still touch, the only one he could still hold was loneliness. It almost seemed like home, warmth, and a family to him.

However, loneliness required quietness. It required silence and the scarceness of others. In the crowded asylum, where screams and yells of pain were heard so often, neither silence nor the scarceness of others were present there. It didn't help, knowing that Raiden was just a few feet away from others. After five years in this wretched place, he thought he would grow used to the noise and unwanted company of others. He never did. Each day was just like the first, if not worse.

~♣~

Xero rocked back and forth in his cell, his heterochromic eyes darting around. They scanned his surroundings but never rested on one single object for long, unable to focus on anything. Then, he started laughing. It wasn't a happy laugh. No, it was insane laughter. The kind that would frighten others and make them avoid him. The weird thing was that once he started, he couldn't stop. Childish laughter echoed through the halls as Xero dropped to the cold, hard floor, literally rolling around and laughing out loud.

"What is it this time?" one of the guards outside grunted. Xero heard the quick taps of feet rushing to his cell, but still couldn't stop laughing.

Another guard scoffed, the sound very close and clear. He must have been right outside of Xero's cell. "It's him again," the guard grumbled. He took a key and unlocked the cell door, the metalic keys and locks clanking with even the slightest movement. A pair of guards in dark uniforms rushed forward, one of them clasping a hand over Xero's mouth. It muffled the laughing, but didn't stop it entirely.

"We'll have to do it again," the first guard said. He crouched down beside Xero, and put his arm around the twelve-year-old's neck, restricting the boy's breathing. Xero coughed, gasping for air. Most of his air supply was depleted from laughing so much, and it wasn't long before the edges of his mouth twisted down, becoming a frown, and his eyes closed slowly as he drifted off into unconciousness.

~♣~

Ronan, who's cell was right next to Xero's, heard the boy's laughter and sighed softly to herself. She flinched when she heard the men's words. Ronan knew what they did to Xero. In fact, it happened on a weekly basis. Poor kid... she thought, wanting to make the guards pay for what they kept doing to Xero. No wonder he wasn't stable! They kept torturing him like that! She sighed again, the sound even softer than last time because she knew she couldn't do anything. Except...

A plan started to form in Ronan's head. Unlike the others, she had resisted being changed, forced into thinking that it would be better if she stayed, that excaping was pointless. She knew that finding someone; an accomplice to help her excape would be difficult, maybe even impossible. But she had to at least try. After all, she knew something that no one else, even the guards, knew.

(Woah, you wrote all of that out already, didn't you. ^_^)

Axel laughed as the gaurds yelled at him for talking. "Shut up!" The gaurd yelled at Axel, and he laughed lightly. "The gaurds are evil, isn't that right, Rex?" He asked softly, nodding in agreement. Axel was never sane, his mind drifting between his and 'Rex's' thoughts and actions. "Rex, you shouldn't be some mean, I'll get mad." He murmered, smiling. "I can be as mean as I want." 'Rex' answered, and Axel laughed, screatching at his throat. The gaurds pulled his hands away, trying them behind his back. Axel would attack himself, hust having fights with himself when 'Rex' bothered him.

He had been here too long, the gaurds knew every action, everything he ever said. Axel continued rocking, despite the rope that kept his hands together behind his back. "Why do you keep trying to seperate us?" Axel giggled, cutting his wrists with the frayed piece of rope. "You can never do it." He laughed insanly, pulling at the rope again, digging it deeper into his wrist. "I'll get rid of you, Rex." He said, hitting his head against the wall. Blood ran down his forehead, and the gaurds just shook their heads. "I'll show you what I'll do if you're mean!" He yelled, his deep voice filling the room. "No, you wont." He answered, or more so Rex answered.

Verran sighed, and the gaurds threw him down into the cell, hitting the ground hard. The bars slammed behind him, and he laughed for a long moment, then stopped, his eyes sinister. "D*** gaurds." He spat, leaning against the wall, his hands bleeding from where he aught himself when he was thrown against the concrete floor. I can't stand it here. I love it here. Thoughts ran through his head, crossing the borderline of happy and sad, his emotions confusing himself more, images rushing out of his head to appear in front of him.
I don't want you to fade. Let me hear, even a sigh. A small heartbeat, that isn't there.

Re: Asylum (Semi Lit)

(...Maybe...XD)

Raiden curled up on the single bed in his cell, pressing his knees close to his chest. He wrapped his arms around his legs, pulling them even closer to his body. Despite the realization that his privacy had long since disappeared, he liked it here. He liked the asylum. Even though so many others were there, he never had to talk to them. It would be much, much different in the world outside of the asylum's stone walls. There would be too many people around, and too much noise. He wouldn't be able to handle it.

Knowing this, Raiden actually hoped that they wouldn't take him out of the asylum anytime soon. He never wanted to leave. He never wanted to face the outside world, because it was all foreign to him. This place, no matter how dark and unsettling it seemed, was predictable. The outside world wasn't. It was ever-changing. It was upredictable. And it was never to be trusted.

~♣~

Ronan sighed, walking towards the far wall of her cell, the wall farthest away from the metal bars that held her in and restricted her freedom. She crouched down, her back to the bars to hide what she was about to do. Her fingers fumbled around, eventually finding a small handle. Ronan gripped it and pulled it upwards, opening a small hatch. Ronan climbed down the hatch, her frame barely able to fit through it. She grabbed a single lantern from the ground and took out a match - which she had stolen from one of the guards who smoked. She smiled slightly to herself, lighting the candle.

Instantly, the darkness in the tunnel dissipated into a brilliant, flickering light. Ronan held the lantern in front of her as she walked through the tunnels.

Apparently, someone - perhaps a past resident - had created a series of tunnels in the asylum that could lead to practically any and every cell in the asylum. However, it was quite easy to get lost in the tunnels, which was probably the reason why there were boxes of chalk next to the lantern. How someone managed to aquire all of these useful items, Ronan didn't know. Actually, the whole thing could have been a trap for all she knew.

Ronan walked into the closest overlapping tunnel to her, which happened to be only a few feet away. She walked through it, careful not to make a sound, and opened a small hatch into Xero's cell. "Xero," she hissed quietly, reaching her arm out to shake the little boy.

~♣~

Xero stirred, his heterochromic eyes fluttering open. "Ro!" he whispered, grinning when he saw her. "W-why are you here?" He glanced back, making sure the guards weren't around before he asked that question. He pushed himself up into a sitting position, then crawled across to Ronan.

~♣~

Ronan grinned, the motion genuine. "We're escaping, Xer," she whispered back, using the nickname she had come up for the boy.((Note: Xer is pronounced like hair, with with a "s" sound instead of the h))

Xero mirrored Ronan's grin. "Finally!" he whispered, crawling into the tunnels behind Ronan. They walked through the network of passageways together, looking for an accomplice to help with their escape plan. Ronan and Xero walked quietly to Verran's cell, and Ronan opened the hatch quietly, poking her head through it and into Verran's cell. "Hey," she hissed, loud enough to get Verran's attention, but quiet enough to be considered a whisper.

Verran's head shifted to the side. "Great, more hallucinations..." He murmered, shaking his head, groaning slightly. Verran didn't believe they were real. Why after so many years would someone suddenly pop up out of the wall with a desire to talk to him. It seemed all too wierd.

Ronan climbed out of the tunnel, quietly slipping into Verran's cell. She sat cross-legged on the ground. Her head tilted to one side a little, showing her confusion. "What do you mean?" she asked quietly. "I'm not a hallucination: I'm real." She smiled warmly at him, thinking that a nice gesture would help persuade this boy - whoever he was - into helping Xero and herself. "Now, tell me; what is your name?" she asked kindly, her warm eyes staring into his. "Again, I'm not a hallucination; I'm real. And my name is Ronan."

~♣~

Xero stayed under the hatch, out of Verran's sight. He tilted his head upwards, staring at the hatch above his head. He wanted to go in, but Ronan had insisted he stay there. Still, he couldn't stay for long. It was much too tempting to open the hatch, and Xero eventually gave into that temptation. He stood up on the tips of his toes and opened up the hatch, peering into the dark cell. The lantern next to Xero's feet was still shining brightly. When the hatch opened, light from it seeped into the cell, illuminating it, though a little creepily.
