Cam walked to the entrance of platform 9 3/4. She looked back her mother and father. She would miss them very much this school year. She looked down at her little brother. He was only 5 but he was already showing a great amount of wizard power.
"Ok Cam just go! You know you want to see all of your friends again," her mother called.
Cam smiled and walked through the barrier. As soon as she saw the train a huge smile spread across her face. Her parents were right behind her. She walked up to the platform and got on the train. Cam turned and waved to her parents and little brother before looking for a compartment.

Samantha stepped through the barrier easily and strolled through the throng with her head held high. So what if her parents just happened to be too busy to see her off to school? So what if her only company was an old wizened wizard straggling behind her, pushing a cart with her enormous trunk on top. She stopped in front of one of the train doors and turned to face the wizard. "Thank you Gilderoy, I can take it from here."
She watched briefly as her family's hired help disappeared into the Muggle world. Her parents were a recently rich family, so they didn't have any house-elf. And besides, her mother didn't believe in employing magical creatures. Being a veela made her one herself. At least she could feel good about her parents insisting her go with her because he got paid. All this she thought as she struggled to push her heavy-laden load up onto the train, almost sweating already in the bright sun, ready to find fellow Gryffindors.

Martin barely glanced as students passed by his compartment door, nor as some of the other Slytherin prefects joined him. He was deeply interested in a book his father had passed down to him. It was a book his father had given him. True, it related a bit to the dark arts. But Martin guessed his father had only given it to him as a sign to his mother that he was giving up on being a Death Eater. He sighed as he realized it was either him or the trash can. Somehow the thought that his father saw him as an equal with the bin that held the rubbish wasn't exactly comforting.
Returning his thoughts back to the book he turned over the page and bent closed down as he examined the tiny print explaining how to breed your own Basilisk. He chuckled as he read: "A Basilisk, one of the most feared creatures in the world, is only born by hatching the egg of a chicken underneath a toad. This means you must spend any amounts of time holding a toad over a chicken egg until it hatches." Martin grimaced as he tried to imagine that and chuckled once more before turning the page.

Tonks was dropped off in front of the train station by her grandparents. She collected her trunk from the the back of the car, grabbed Arnel and ran up the stairs and into the station. She ran at the barrier between platforms 9 and 10 and finally saw the Hogwarts Express. Tonks packed away her trunk and looked around for her friends. "There probably on the train already..." She mumbled to herself and climbed into one on the cars. No one she knew was in there yet so she found an empty compartment and sat down. Arnel was clicking his beak at her, wanting something to eat. "You can eat later you little piggy" she told the noisy owl. She was very excited to finally be going back.

Samantha maneuvered her way in the crowd, past compartments before halting in front of one door. She peered inside and smiled as she realized she was right. It was a girl in her year. And better than that, she was a Gryffindor. She pulled open the compartment door and stuck her head inside. "Alright if I sit here with you? I haven't really seen anybody else I know yet," she tried to remain upbeat as she looked at the girl hopefully.

Tonks looked up at the girl in the doorway. "Oh! Yah sure! Have a seat!" Tonks was smiling brightly at the new company she had. Its quite boring talking to an owl. "Hi there! Im Tonks!" She put her hand out for the new girl to shake it. "How come Ive never seen you 'round here before?" Tonks was eager to start a conversation as all summer, she was stuck talking to her grandparents or her brother.

Wings saw Tonks in a compartment. "Hey Tonks!" she said happily. She slid into a seat and saw Samantha and replied, "Sure, I don't think Tonks here will mind." Grinning she gave Swift a treat. The owl munched it happily.

Samantha glowed as she entered the cabin. Beaming she replied, "Thanks so much. I'm Samantha Caligaras. Sammi. You still go by Tonks then? And aren't you Raven, er, Wings?" she corrected herself. Continuing on she said, "And uh, well, I'm not sure, I guess you and I never talked that much." She sighed, staring at the window. Being let down by her parents all the time had made her unsure if she ever could find someone who would be good enough to be called a friend, but she hated being alone.
She looked over at Tonks and upon closed scrutiny noticed a flicker in her hair color. But she had heard the rumours about her having some of her mother's traits passed down, and some of her father's. Still, Samantha realized that it was nice knowing she wasn't the only one with abnormal parents. She sighed again as she flung her beautiful hair behind her, and tried to think about things besides that most people gawped at her looks.

"Yah, well I prefer to be called Tonks, I mean, Clairia? Not really me, you know? Ello Wings!" Tonks had missed her friend over the holidays and was glad to be back. "So! Whats new with you guys? I managed to change my hair yellow last week!" And then, screwing up her face as if someone had just pulled out her hair and she couldnt make a noise, her hair turned bright yellow! "How do I look?" Tonks asked, proud of being able to do it again and turning her head back and forth for the whole 360 view.
