((I apologize for not posting in so long, but here's my two characters and Kaze to try to make up for it. The looming beginning of Fate's duel against Lux will also spell the beginning of Kio's duel with himself. Also, I need someone to serve as his opponent.))
Fate Tredwell
As Lux no doubt expected, she had no need to knock on the doors of the Tredwell manor. Fate had expected her arrival, though he had honestly hoped to have an extra day to research the name Silvers and why it struck a chord in his memory. Normally, he would have had one of the maid's answer the door, but today he felt inclined to be on the receiving end of all that came his way. It was he that opened the door to the professional duelist, a disturbingly calm smile on his face that didn't quite reach his eyes. "Ah, I was wondering when you would arrive. Do come in, if you will. It's rude to linger at doorways when an invitation has been so kindly extended to one who has dark intent towards a member of the family that dwells within." Oh, yes, he knew quite well what she was here for. Another duel, this one expecting to be quite different due to the power she thought she could control. How long would it be before the chaos hibernating within the card awoke and overwhelmed her mind? Ah, but Fate did not linger on that as he began to walk towards the nearby doors that opened into the sitting room, turning his head back. "Would you care for some tea while I prepare myself for this confrontation? I can have Miss Fortune make a new pot."
Kio Silvers
Over and over Kio replayed the only memory he had of his parent's faces.....at least, the only memory he thought he had. The picture became clearer each time, eventually revealing a woman with hair not unlike his in color, though he most certainly now knew that it was from the man beside her that his hair seemed to grow itself. Oh, he had tried many times to tame it, but to no avail. So.....these were his parents. These were the people who had left him as a child.
"Not very good parents, were they," a questioning voice sounded from behind him. Turning around, Kio found himself face to face with a black shadow that, in some strange sense, looked as if it were his reflection. The face that soon appeared dispelled any doubt that this was all his imagination. It was his own, warped and twisted into a cruel visage. "You know, we are so glad we could finally meet one another. Now we can take pleasure in destroying what fragments of light dwell within this useless vessel," the Shadow stated with a malicious joy dripping from every word. Of course, Kio didn't need to ask what it meant, having by now guessed from the duel disk that seemed to be as one with the being's arm. What he didn't expect was for a duel disk to appear on his own arm, their surroundings changing from the void he had come to know into a rooftop that was all too familiar. This was where he had dueled Regi and Kim, two people he had thought possible to befriend before those Numbers had taken over his mind. In unison, both voices shouted the same thing.
"Let's Duel!"
Kaze
"So, what is troubling your mind so, Regina? If it were just a fear of never measuring up, I doubt you would have come here. Many people have that fear, but they can overcome it on their own easily enough. No, it has to be something more." By now, it would come as no surprise to the young woman that Kaze was far more astute than he let on, his own experiences granting him that wisdom. "As I said, I'm here to listen. You just have to make the choice to do the talking."
((One more thing. Did you get the joke with the name of one of the Tredwells' maids?))
