Blood, Sand and Tears (1X1 with tichems)

Andromedus slowly led the way back to the cooling shade of the chamber. When they are mid-way into the great chamber, Andromedus turns round to fully face Benedictus "We need to talk in private." He leads the way to his bedroom so that they can talk without anyone listening in. Once there, he places his weapons down underneath his bed and carefully removes his armour so that he's left wearing the thin linen top and trousers that are worn as under clothing when wearing a suit of armour. He sighs as his skin begins to cool down. He then turns to Benedictus "Why didn't you tell me you are of palace guard's blood?"

Callisto bit her lip "I didn't think it was important." Trying to sound innocent as possible, how was she going to get out of this one. She was trying not to loose herself in Andromedus' eyes and tell him the truth. Her eyes were darting all over the place, hoping he would give up and wouldn't question anymore.

"Didn't think it was important?" Andromedus asks back. Doesn't Benedictus understand how much danger he would be in if anyone was to find out? "A high majority of the gladiators that you see, are in here because of the emperor and his guards!" he takes a deep breath, trying to keep calm "If anyone finds out who or what you are, they'll be onto you in seconds. Now I'm not about to tell anyone, but you have to be careful. I'm surprised no one has attacked you already from your suit!" he places his hands gently on Benedictus' fore arms and smiles kindly "You shouldn't be here, you could easily escape. Get someone on the outside, such as my mentor Marcus, to track down your family and get you out of here. What other secrets are you hiding from me?" he stares straight into Benedictus' eyes, waiting for a reply.

Callisto tried not to looked into Andromedus' eyes, but eventually did. She was trying to resist telling him and remained silent for several more minutes, she kept glancing down. A clear indication that she was trying to hold back something, she eventually said "Nothing." She was sweating, hoping Andromedus would give up, but there was little to no chance of that happening.

Andromedus sighs and places a hand under Benedictus' chin, lifting his head gently. Their eyes meet "There's obviously something, please tell me?" He waits patiently, their eyes firmly trapped in eachother's gaze.

Callisto tried to pull away, but she couldn't. Those eyes were so inviting....."I can't....." She tried to look somewhere else but couldn't, taking a deep breath she couldn't hide it any longer. She just couldn't hide, not from Andromedus, his eyes were just what were causing her to loose control "My name isn't Benedictus..."

Andromedus continues to stand still, his eyes still on Benedictus - no, this man's - eyes, his hand still on this man's chin. "Then what is your name?" he manages to croak in a whisper.

[Crabbiey]

"Callisto...." Callisto said quietly. The moment she said her name she wished she hadn't; what would Andromedus do, she could only dread to think. What if he threw her out? Than she couldn't see him again. She swallowed, waiting for his reaction.

Andromedus barely moves "Callisto?" he repeats the name, his voice a bleak monotone. Callisto? Wasn't that the name of the Emperor's daughter? The emerald eyes stare straight back at him, so that is why the eyes are so beautiful, the figure too slender, agile and...beautiful for a mere man. Benedictus is a woman and not just any woman, the emperor's daughter! His eyes move to the floor as his mind whirrs around the facts spinning around in his mind. He had felt strongly towards Benedictus that was certain, but could never bring himself to accept the feelings, but as a woman... "What are you doing here?" his voice is hollow, his eyes move back to the two green gems. His hands fall to his sides, numb.

"I ran away, you already know how I got here." Callisto said and glanced at the floor "I couldn't stand living there anymore. I tried to escape, but didn't get more than a few streets." She smilied weakily and looked back up "Bit ironic, thinking about it; escaping one prison to end up in another." So far Andromedus didn't seem to be taking it badley, she was relieved, but couldn't be certain yet.
