Name: Tisen Li Ton

Age: 13

Appearance: -Looking for picture- Tisen has dark, almost black hair that reaches to curve around her neck. She had honey gold eyes with unusual flecks of other pale colours. She is short for her age.

Personality:
Tisen is fiercely independent, sarcastic, direct, stubborn, and confrontational. She appears to have a carefree and adventurous personality, and she is very tomboyish in the way she acts and dresses - a contrast to the delicate doll her parents see her as. Tisen loves battling and takes great pride in her Earthbending skills. She appears eager to prove that she is as strong as anyone who can see.

Tisen's eagerness to prove that she can be independent has led to some initial difficulties with some. Tisen insists that she can "carry her own weight", and often mistakes a simple friendly gesture as an act of pity for her blindness. Her encounter with an old man, however, has taught her that some care for her because they are friends, not because her disability makes them feel obligated to do so.

Tisen is brutally honest when criticizing others. She is vocal about her opinions on others regardless of status or age. Her occasional attitude or aloofness may be related to her being the only child of one of the richest families in the Earth Kingdom. Thanks to her time as a competitor and champion of the Earthbending tournaments, she is an expert in verbally taunting and insulting her opponents, and on occasion her friends. She reveals to one that, being unable to see what she looks like, she doesn't feel the need to fuss over her appearance. However, despite her many quirks, Tisen has shown that she is a quick learner, and her courage and loyalty to her new friends seems very stable.

One of Tisen's most obvious traits involves personal hygiene. She is accustomed to lying on the ground, and walking everywhere barefoot leaving her soles quite soiled. This is common, however, as most Earthbenders walk barefoot, likely so that their body is directly touching the earth at all times. Also, she has been seen belching loudly, picking her nose, spitting, and is usually covered in dirt or, as she calls it, "a healthy coating of earth."

Tisen is well-educated in the manners and bearings of high society--she merely consciously and consistently chooses to ignore them. She makes an exception to some occaisons.

Tisen sat by a river, getting soaked by the water that came from he force of her splashing feet. "Too... warm..." she complained with a groan. She looked around and came out of the water. She would’ve swam, but it would do no use. Anything could happen. She flinched at the possibilities and began to walk off. "Too... warm..." she repeated, trying to find shade under the trees.
Sitting down, she played with the dirt. "Too dry..." She took some and threw it, just to get it falling in her hair. "Great." She rolled her eyes and sighed. What was Riska doing? Riska... The same Riska how had his birthday on the day she ran away. Riska, how had taunted her and made her life a misery. Riska... Still, she hoped he was okay.

(BTW, did I mention that Dakota has a dragon? His name is Fang. [Cliche, right? ] He's a nightfury, but his name isn't Toothless xD)

Dakota laid down in the tall grass, staring up at the clouds. She thought about Fang, somewhere in his little "house" right now. He had helped her carve a secret tunnel under her house's foundation for him to live. She had used one of her forcefields to push away the thick sheet rock and dirt. And, apparently, there was an underground spring beneath her house, because there was a pool she'd visit during the summer and winter. It was always warm down there. Dakota kept thinking, thinking of the day she got her powers... That was an interesting day.

Tisen thought herself as crazy. Riska? She scowled harshly. Why should Tisen care if he was hurt? She gave him a present, after all. Alll his presents to her had been jokes--empty boxes, pranks, etcetra. She sighed and walked on, stuffing her hands into her pockets. As she thought through, her thoughts about him were pretty harsh. There was that one time when he had saved her. Tisen winced at the memory. Why should she flinch at a memory? she asked herself. "Because you're a coward," she murmered in a reply to her own question. "Because your a coward." She whispered the repeat to herself and stared at the ground. She growled. "I'm not a coward!" she cried out.

It was true. She wasn't a coward. Tisen had protected Riska--strong Riska, bold Riska, never-be-scared Riska. Yes, it was something small, but she protected him.

Interestingly enough, Dakota was thinking about something other than her own problems. Her hand touched the earth, and ice coated a small circle a bit taller and wider than her palm. She took her hand away and it melted, painfully ripping her away from her other thoughts, again reminding her how different she was from the rest of the world. She wondered how she had originally not noticed when this curse was put on her. Her cyan eyes glittered as she stared up at the sun. The clouds passed by swiftly and silently, and she wished that she could jump on those clouds, that she had the gift of flight rather than something that bound her to the earth. Come on, stupid. Clouds are made of water vapor. Even if you could fly, you couldn't jump on them. She silently inflicted herself with insults at her idiocy. "Maybe one day..."
