Emma was having a bit of trouble trying to find a store that had what she wanted, and she was getting flustered. Her cheeks were bright pink and her teeth chattered. She was further away from the coffee shop now, and going back would put a huge dent in her plans. Reality began to come back to her, and she realized she really didn't have any idea of where she actually was anymore. Heck, for all she knew she could be in a different country. She pulled her phone out of her pocket with her freezing hands, but ultimately dropped it into the snow when her fingers didn't seem to want to grasp it correctly. She swore loudly before kneeling down to pick it up again.

Eddie was standing back and letting Ciri handle communication. Apparently, though, he'd been taken from a place where there were only men to a place where he was the only male around. He flinched slightly when Ciri offered money. He didn't have any, and he hadn't had any for a long time. All he had were the clothes he was wearing, and even those he'd sewn together himself from scraps of others he'd picked up. He sighed to himself and debated running off.

"It's...possible." Mary murmured, hands on her hips. It likely wasn't worth it. Sure, the Crooked Man's door could appear anywhere, but...in a place like this, even a bridge likely wouldn't harbor it. "But unlikely." She added, a little remorsefully. "Honestly, if they're to be found anywhere...it probably wouldn't be there." She'd just been remembering that little maintenance door underneath that bridge in central park, where his symbol appeared every now and again. But this bridge was too old to harbor anything like that. Mary turned her attention back towards the shops, though she was still on the lookout for anything familiar. She needed to know who her allies were.

josh smiled, relieved. 'oh thank god, they're alright.' he thought, looking down at the little creature. "i'm josh, and thank the lord because i am freezing my butt off. where to?" he looked around, observing all the little shops. a thought suddenly hit him and he did a big, sweeping looking across the whole area. 'where's matt?', he thought, suddenly worried. he looked around again. nothing. he looked down at sparkitek, putting on a relaxed face. he knew he was a good actor. "hey, have you seen a brunet around here? just a few inches shorter than me, probably looks like he sees through time and space? he's kinda quiet."

matt heard someone cursing, making his way over as he saw a girl. "um, hello? do you need help?" he called to her, slightly confused and worried. he walked over, watching the snow beneath his feet and shivering again. he looked up as he got to the girl, looking at her.

Emma looked up at the man approaching her as she dusted the snow off of her phone. She hadn't noticed him before, and she'd be lying if she said she hadn't jumped. Years in the game had left her with a paranoid streak a mile wide.

By instinct she rolled her shoulders and stood a little straighter, seeming to try and make herself look bigger. "I'm alright. Just a little annoyed is all," she replied with a heavy sigh. She put her phone back in her pocket before looking up at him again. "Say, you from around here? I'm having a little bit of trouble figuring out where I am."

"I'm in much the same boat as you I'm afraid, though I'm inclined to agree. Of all the strange places I've woken up this has to be the most pleasant. It's a nice change from the concrete jungle...Even if I'm not exactly dressed for the weather," Emma chuckled.

"Name's Emma Harding. Pleasure to meet ya," she said introducing herself formally with her thick southern drawl.

Emma had to suppress a laugh at the mention of his name. 'So many Matt's,' she thought to herself. 'Well, at least this one seems decent.'

She trudged after him quickly with her clunky boots. "Oh yes please. I need something warmer desperately. I dressed for a balmy 77 today and then this happened!" she exclaimed.

matt laughed, stopping briefly and pulling off his hoodie, draping it over her shoulders. "there. i've been in the cold a lot less long than you have, and i'm used to it anyway. now, hurry!" without giving her time to respond, he trotted off again, looking around.

Emma pulled the hoodie tight around herself when he gave it to her. "Oh wow, uh, thank you!" she called, but he was already rushing off again. She quickly started after him, still gripping the hoodie.

Huh. That was new. The guys back home had never done that for her.

She was starting to like this place.

She fell into step beside Matt. "So. Where are you from?" she questioned curiously.
