- Don't worry, Mirage. I'll have extraction ready for you soon, just hold on!"
The Lotus' last words to her echoed in Mirage's mind as she fell backwards through the mysterious portal, blasting the oncoming wave of Sentients away with a burst from her sonicor. Wherever the thing led, it wouldn't do to introduce the Sentients there. She'd already almost died to them once. The other sided didn't need it, either, as Mirage stepped through the portal into a world of blaring alarms chaotic lights. Apparently whatever brought her here wasn't going to be around for much longer, which meant she needed to leave as soon as possible. In her experience, portals never collapsed peacefully.
Rolling gracefully to her feet, the Tenno took a brief moment to take stock of her new environment. The first thing she noticed was that everything was incredibly primitive. They still used physical screens for the Void's sake. The second thing she noticed were the humans. Not Tenno, not Orokin, not even Corpus. Plain, ordinary, humans. The kind that had only existed in archives for who knew how many years now. Apparently, the portal hadn't just sent her through space, it had also sent her through time. Still better than getting ripped apart by Sentients, though.
Mirage was about to start making haste for the exit, when a crash that didn't seem to be part of the portal failing caught her attention. Another human, who it seemed had just come out of the portal himself, had fallen over a table. Odd, that, it wasn't like a table was hard to spot. Still, better help him, maybe he had some idea about what was going on here. Folding up her Sonicor, the sonic emitters retracting back into the utilitarian metal body, Mirage stepped over to the human, offering her hand to help him up. "We'd best be getting out of here," she said, "The Void is a rather violent healer."
