Hinami is shy and she has a very gentle heart. Since she is a ghoul she can't go to school with makes her even more eager to learn. She does like to read books but she gets stuck on certain words so it is also hard for her to read.

Hinami lived like a normal ghoul would up until a accident happened (not spoiling anything) so where she had to live with Touka who she looks up to as a older sister. She quickly became friends with Kaneki and she looks up to him as a older brother.
