Killua stared silently for a few moments as Haiku approached him, he wasn't exactly sure what to say. What could you say to someone who was supposedly your 'other half'? Still sounded like nonsense to him though. After a few beats, he raised his hand and wiggled his pinky with the red string tied to it. "So... string partners, huh?" He muttered nervously, feeling rather embarrassed. If only his little sister, Alluka, were here; though she'd probably just end up making fun of him for being so awkward.

Illya could feel something tugging on her string. She thought this was a sign saying 'follow the red string' or something like that. She quickly put her thoughts away and touched the string, then soon she found herself slowly inching towards whoever it was. Her eyes were focused on the string before her, and there was still quite a distance to go. Some people cleared out of the way for her, and before she knew it, there was her partner, standing a few feet away. Illya suddenly couldn't move, all she could do was stare. Gulping, she took another step forward towards the male that was attached to the same string as her. Then another. And another. And another until she was only about a foot away from him.

Hakku sighed as she walked in a random direction. Being in this strange predicament, she would much rather be bickering with the aliens from her world. At least their nonsense made a little bit of sense to her, this was just absoulutely rediculous. She sighed and rubbed her eyes before continuing on her way, not noticing Tale at all.

Haiku smiled kindly at Killua, holding up her pinky and wiggling it as well. "Yeah, I guess you're my partner, huh? My name is Haiku Sasaki, I am the Maid of Space." She had always found it polite to tell strangers of her god tier status upon introduction, but didn't realize this was probably weird to someone who had probably never heard of it.

"Killua Zoldyck, I'm– wait, what?" Killua questioned, blinking in surprise. "Maid of... Space? How does that even work?" He questioned, eyebrows knitting together in confusion. Of course, he'd try not to judge before hearing Haiku's explanation, but he couldn't help but think that was a weird title. He just hoped it made sense and that his string partner didn't end up being someone delusional.

Tale watched as she walked past, he opened his mouth to say something but stopped himself, finally he scolded himself and looked up again "um, excuse me ma'am.../ he asked and put his hands in his pockets, normally he wasn't this nervous about anything. So what was wrong with him? He shook the thoughts from his head

Haiku blinked, then suddenly realized titles like that probably weren't common or even existent where he was from. "Well, to keep it simple, I can change how much space is in an object. Kind of like taking a small box, but then giving it the same space on the inside as a much larger box without changing the other appearance of the smaller box..." Haiku went silent for a bit. "I-It makes a lot more sense doing it rather than explaining it."

Hakku blinked as she heard someone talking to her. She faced Tale and put her headphones around her neck. "Need something?" She asked. She had intended to forget entirely about the string around her pinkie, and had done just that.

It was like she was hit in the face with a cold bag of ice when the brunette realised where she was. Well, where she wasn't, at least. Confused, and slightly worried, Cynthia stood, noting the lack of snark from her "partner". Where were they? Where had N gone? She went to comb her fingers through her messy hair when she noticed the red twine wound around her finger. Now, this raised alarms in the young woman's head. It was scary, considering what she went through previously with string. She tugged it, experimenting the strength, and noticed two things straight away; it wasn't hurting her, and the string lead somewhere. Now rather curious, she tugged on the string again, harder this time. What was it connected to?

Tale stood silent for a moment and sighed holding up his hand, the majority of the string wrapped around his hand. The last of it trailed down and hung of the ground a few inches before running up to her hand.

His heart lurched when he felt a tug against his string. Was it just the wind? It might've been... Was his partner pulling on it by walking in the opposite direction? Were they trying to get away from him already? They hadn't even met him yet. Billy toyed with the string, pulling on it slightly, wondering if his partner could feel that. His pale hands trembled. This seemed like such a foolish idea all of a sudden. Taking a deep breath, he pulled on his string again, and, holding it as tightly as possible to keep his nervous hands from shaking, he started to follow it, aiming his eyes at the ground. Everyone else, it seemed, was already getting to meet their partner.

This stupid little string looked like a wire. Like a tube. Six tubes, thin and red, rooted in his sides between his ribs. Seventeen more keeping him alive, clamps on his jaw. Wires. He could almost see those little patterns dancing behind his eyes, trying to get him to dream in tune. To awaken the Walrider. Billy froze in his tracks, lost in his own memories, chest fluttering. He felt like running away, but that would only yank on his partner's end of the string. He hadn't even met them yet, and he was already leaving a bad first impression.

Hakku blinked. "S-sorry. I didn't reallize you were my.. partner." She hesitated before saying the word 'partner', blushing just a bit as she said it "My name is Hakku and I'm the Heir of Light." She was fidgeting with some of the string in a nervous sort of way.
