Kaori sighed and sat down. “Tamper with memories,” she mumbled, “but how?”

Lucian watched her silently, studying her, his arms crossed.

Kaori squeezed her eyes shut and put her hands into a ‘/\’ shape. She brought the tips to her forehead and closed the gap, her thumbs on her lower lip. “Like there’s nothing else in the world.” She took a deep breath then held it, going still.

Lucian watched her silently, studying her.

A light breeze tugged at Kaori's short hair as she concentrated. Her pale skin made her look almost exactly like a statue.

Lucian studied her, trying to puzzle out what she was thinking. The breeze tugged slightly at the ends of his black dress shirt, though he ignored it he kept a wary ear for any sounds that could be considered out of the ordinary. His nostrils flared slightly as he sniffed the air, trying to catch any sign from the breeze that danger could possibly be approaching.

Kaori's eyes flickered open, but it was as if she was at another place. She kept in the position she was in, but she started breathing softly, before standing up.

Lucian looked towards the breeze, catching all the scents. He saw her eyes flicker open out of the corner of his eye, though he did not look at her until she stood. He turned and looked at her, "What were you doing?" he questioned as he studied her unfocused eyes, wondering what she had been doing.

Kaori looked over at him and sighed. "A few years ago I met a vampire... He haunts my memories, sort of."

Lucian looked at her for a moment, thinking, "What do you mean, sort of?" he questioned as he looked at her. He knew that his kind could be vicious, to say the least. He wondered what this vampire had done to scare her so deeply. He glanced at her neck, searching for scars, or any sign that she had been attacked by one of his kind.
