Nathan only smirked at the sound of her compliment, it had some sort of an evil touch behind it. "Sure." Nathan said, he sat down criss cross in the sand, the water touched him a little and he cringed, he never did like the water.


"Sure." Hailey said, she handed him the bag. "Wheres your home?" Hailey asked, she didn't want to walk too far, she felt a little lazy today. Hailey didn't really bother to look up, she kept her eyes locked on the ground in front of her. It's only the habits Hailey has been trying to kick for awhile.

Sarah sat beside him, taking off her flip-flops and dipping her toes in the water. She sighed softly, tilting her head up towards the sky, her eyes closed. She glanced at him for a moment. "Do you mind if I go in the water? Just for a minute?" she asked. She had to show him something... this was the perfect excuse.

Kendall smiled. "It's not far from here." he said, slinging her bag over his shoulder effortlessly. "I have a car so it wont take long." he smiled, leading her to a huge black Toyota Tacoma. He walked over to the passenger side door and opened it for her like a chauffeur. "Ladies first." he smiled brightly, his blond hair moving a little as the wind brushed part him.

"I guess." Nathan sighed and drew in the sand, he drew random things like a bird and his name. Nathan grumbled, now Sel was going to be all wet and Nathan hated wet. He hated anything having to do with water.

Hailey got in, the seats were very comfortable. "Okay." Hailey said, she didn't like being in a car sense she always seemed to get motion sickness sometimes. She sighed and immediately looked out the window, all she saw was the giant plain school building and the gray sky.

Sel pulled off her jeans and shirt to reveal the bikini she had been wearing underneath. Her entire body was covered in bruises, head to toe, and a few bleeding marks on her legs and arms. The cuts were deep and straight, almost as if they were made by a knife. She stepped into the water, just going in up to her calf, and let out a moan as she jumped out of the water and back to the beach. The salt water was in the cuts and it was stinging like crazy. She gritted her teeth, her eyes watering as she waited for the pain to subside.

Kendall glanced at her as he got in the driver's side. "Is something wrong?" he asked helpfully. He seemed to guess that she got car sick and smiled. "If you get carsick try looking at me the whole time... When someone is driving me somewhere I used to look at them and I would never get carsick." he explained. Until I couldn't get sick anymore.... he added to himself.

Nathan didn't really notice that Sel was in pain, He was really focused on something else. "Shouldn't of done that probably." Nathan said with a small heartless laugh, then took in a small sigh. Nathan didn't say much else, he loved to see humans mess up sometimes. The smell coming off of Sel was stronger now that some scars were showing, Nathan almost snapped for a second but got a hold of himself just in time.

"Doesn't matter.." Hailey said, she didn't take her eyes off the outside. It was almost like her eyes were locked in place, never to be moved or disturbed. Hailey's eyes reflected the sunlight and they gleamed in the small rays peaking threw the clouds.

Sel sat down and buried her head in her knees. "Sorry..." she murmured. "The smell makes me feel sick sometimes... not dizzy just nauseous." she whimpered. An old scar the shape of a heart was carved on her shoulder blade. "It's not my fault though..." she whispered. A tiny tear trailing down her face.

Kendall smiled and started to drive faster down the road. "You look beautiful in the sun." he murmured, looking her up and down. He clicked his tongue and shook his head. "I just messed up... you look beautiful constantly, not just in the sun." Now that they were alone, her scent was undiluted. His eyes rolled backward for a moment when he closed them, the scent of her overpowering his will. It was drawing him to her.

"I think you need to be more.. like me. Get it all out of your head, pretend it's your enemy, fight it.." Nathan said, he didn't really pay attention still. It was hard to get him to focus on mainly anything. Nathan's head flickered around, he wiped the tear from her eye. "Harden yourself. It's the only way to survive the world now." Nathan said coldly. but he didn't mean for it to come out like that.

Hailey's smile went crooked. "Your trying to flirt with me aren't you." Hailey snapped, she didn't know why, she just hated when guys did that to her. Hailey knew not to trust a guy until she knew him well enough. Hailey sighed then and laid her eyes back to the window, the sun hit her body but it flickered from cold to warm.

Sel looked over at him, her eyes cold. "How can I protect myself against my own father?" she whispered. "The bruises, the cuts, the broken bones and sprains... none of that hurts. It's that my own father is doing things like this... a girl should never be terrified of her father." she hissed.

Kendall grinned. "Not necessarily..." he murmured. "I was simply stating fact... the truth. I would also be telling the truth if I told you that I shouldn't be bringing you to my house alone..." he whispered, almost inaudible, his eyes squeezed shut. The needle on the speedometer inched towards 90.

"Run away." Nathan said, he got up and had some twisted emotional face on. It was a cross between anger and or confusion. "Why is that so hard? You don't need friends, you don't need anyone but yourself, some money and a place to live." Nathan added, some anger was toning in his voice.

Hailey kind of zoned out after what he said, she started to feel extra sick. Hailey's face got greenish all of a sudden. "Ughh.." Hailey groaned. "I don't feel good anymore.." Hailey added. She clasped her stomach and tried to keep the food from coming up.

Sel looked down nervously, her face twisted with sadness. "I didn't mean to make you mad..." she apologized..It's not as easy as it sounds..." she whispered, scared of his anger. "My little sister is there too. I can't protect both of us. I have to stay wherever she is to protect her. She doesn't want to leave because she's never seen the mean side of him. If I leave she will get hurt." she murmured.

Kendall pulled over and jumped out of the car, getting over to the passenger door in a matter of seconds. He carried her out, holding her close and bringing her to the side of the road. He massaged her back gently, his eyes wide. "Are you okay?" he whispered. "Do you want water or something?" he asked nervously. He didn't remember what to do to stop people from puking.
