hand, stiflling laughter. "zim does not wish to harm
you." he said, putting emphasis on the last word.
he frowned thoughtfully and crossed his arms, seeming
to be thinking about something troubling.

Peridot frowned, slowly getting up. She narrowed her eyes at Zim, "I know that...," Peridot snaps, slowly finishing her sentance, "you just... startled me...." Peridot brushed off herself, and put her hands behind her back. This Zim is more intimidating than I thought... Hmm.

zim actually started laughing a little. he covered his
mouth and grinned. "you sure about that? it didn't
seem like it." the irken said, tone much lighter
than it had been previously. he still didn't retract
his PAK legs.

Peridot hissed under her breath. "Nyeeeeegh... Of course I'm sure, do I look like some defenseless gem to you?" she says rather calmly. Peridot had her hands at her sides in fists, feeling nervous around those legs coming out of Zim's PAK. They reminded her of the gem technology from the kindergarten.

zim grinned again. "should i answer that?" he
asked, sounding rhetorical. he retracted the sharp legs
and landed on his feet soundlessly. "i am not hostile."
he shrugged.

The green gem was slightly angered that he laughed at her, even if it was just for a second. She couldn't stand the thought of others thinking she was harmless and weak, which is what she was assuming Zim thought of her at this point, or even worse for her, though unrelated with the moment, cute.
"I know," Peridot hissed. She took a deep breath before continuing to talk. "And, yes, you should've answered that, and the response should have been no," the small gem squeaks, a little more calm this time.

zim's grin faded, and he tilted his head. he seemed
genuinely confused. "did zim say something wrong?"
he asked, crossing his arms. there was no malice in his
tone, just confusion.

"N-no!" Peridot says quickly, feeling guilty for being so sensitive. She crossed her arms. "I just don't like it when others think of me as... harmless... and such," Peridot says simply, looking down at the floor. She remembered when she had her limb enhancers. Peridot would've been taller than Zim. She didn't feel sad, just a little ticked off.

he didn't often express remorse, therefore it wasn't
his forte. he cocked his head.
