Enthusiasm had quickly devolved into fear. Kat hated swarms, it was the entire reason why she hadn't taken on the boss until now. She would tell Asuna this, but she had seemed so prepared and ready it was a no-turning-back-now sort of situation. Her hand formed death grips on her lance and shield, taking some final deep breaths.

You got this, Katherine. You've been grinding since you made it to that floor. You have the best equipment you can afford. You have Asuna. You. Can. Do this!

They say first impressions count, and this Lucian definetly made the right one. Yu didn't know what was about him, his brutal honesty, or just the presence he gave off, but he could tell that they definitely could be friends.

After muttering for a while, they looked up to see another player staring at them, to that they responded with jerking up and replacing his frustrated expression with a gleeful one. "Hello fellow traveler!" they said wih a little chirp to their voice. "Is there anyway I cpuld help you? Maybe sing you a great ballad? Acapella, mind you, my accompiament has, " they stopped speaking to look at their pitiful lute. "Decided not to cooperate..."

Asuna grinned. "Go!" She yelled, she ran into the large doors and imidietly a large monster boss spawned, as well as lots and lots of small lizards. Easy kill. she thought. She then ran as started cutting of the little heads with one easy stroke, within a few moments she was already half way done.

Kat was not having a good time, even if half the monsters had already been obliterated. Spending most of her energy trying to heave the lizard monsters using her shield, the paladin was starting to buckle under pressure.

Gotta...push....forward.

One step at a time, she attacked the smaller foes and kept creeping towards the actual boss. Being a tank class was all about slow and steady movement, but nothing like this. She felt, inferior. Yet again. She kept telling herself that if she didn't try she would never get better, but in this situation, she could very well die.

If....if I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die fighting!

Then, she did the stupid thing and charge forth, covering her face with her shield to avoid any.....immediate injuries.

Asuna had killed most of the small lizards, she turned to see her. "Odd stratagy, but straight on. I like it." Asuna smirked and whatched. "Call me if you need help!" She yelled.

Lucian sure did know one thing, Yu here sure made an impression and it was among one of the right ones. He didn't know what it was about the guy, his calling it as it is nature, or his appearance of what looked to be more on the magic side in a swords online game. Though he had to give him props for it, sticking to what he knew best. Yet he could tell that they definitely could be friends, possibly even good ones.

"No need to be formal, as I'm fine with just being called Lucian. Though it is a pleasure to meet you, Yu." Lucian said as his left hand grabbed Yu's hand that was sticking out and shook it. It was nice to meet someone a little more direct like he was. As all he had come across was either the mopers and the erratics, which both of them were not fun to run into. "So... and I know we just met. Though if the two of us work together as a party would could rack up some cash in no time. It's alright for you to say no, if you don't want to." He said, not really knowing why he had said it, then hearing how dumb it sounded coming out of his own mouth. Great, he's going to think I'm nuts...

He was about to try and leave again though before he could he saw that the player noticed him. Which he was amazed of how fast her expression changed from frustration to glee. The voice was a little chirper for his taste though not like he had a choice in the matter. "Ahh... sure, I guess." He said not really knowing what to say there.

Asuna's words fell on deaf ears as Kat went charging headfirst not unlike a knight in a joust. She probably was going slower than she thought, but that was of no manner as the adrenaline had gone to her head , causing her to ram sheild-and-lance first into the boss's side, agiating it more than anything else . Pulling her weapon out and jabbing it in again, Kat's enthusiasm-turned-fear once again evolved into full -force recklessness.

"Take that! And that! Don't you think I'm not gonna stop until your nothing but pixels!! HYAAAAGGHH!"

Hmm, a partnership with the common goal of earning money? Definitely a more solid plan than some of the other thrown -together parties I've seen.

"They say many hands make light work, I don't think that's a bad idea." While Yu normally disliked the saying 'many hands make light work', as it was something his grandmother said to get him to do chores, it couldn't be more applicable, so he said it anyways. He never thought of himself as a hypocrite, but here he was, a loner working with a player he's just met, saying phrases he normally loathed. "Besides, we both might get something other than some upgraded equipment out of it."

What was said out of confusion was interepted as concern, as Aiden thought that something was bothering this player. The bard was never skilled in understanding emotions through tone, a weakness they never picked up on. So they went further and wondered if it was something they had done. No point in just wondering, so they asked. "Is something troubling you, sir? "
