Mason watched as some more tributes entered. He thought of how he had to act different for the sponsors to like him. Mason waited as his stylist fitted his clothing to make it look perfect.

She was growing bored, perhaps friends might be nice to have every now and then, to talk. Serval looked at her claws and thought of her friend back home, Seth Davis. Seth was a 20-year-old surgeon, originally from the Capitol. After Serval's family died, Seth arrived at her district. He was as cold and heartless as her, and she loved that about him. He had been working on a project that involved lengthening bones, for Capitol people who wanted to be taller and such, however, the Capitol kicked him out before then. Seth and Serval kept on getting closer and closer, and Serval volunteered to be his lab rat, working on her claws. Serval never thought she'd miss anyone, but Seth stuck in the back of her mind at this moment, when she wanted a friend most. His sarcastic sense of humor, his way of seeing things, his persuasive tone. The stroked the horses boredly.

Mason started to stare at nothing in particular. He hated the capital and the people in it. With their fake hair and false values. These people had pulled him away from his little brother who happened to be only 12. He had never even used and axe before. Mason had told Niko that when he turned 12 he would show him how to use an axe. But Niko had turned 12 just yesterday. And Mason had been in the capital by then. All Mason wanted to do was go back to Niko. Niko was almost alone the only person other then Mason was Juno. Juno was also 12 but he was a wild card. He was funny and strong. Juno had a loving family unlike Mason and Niko. Juno had taken in Niko after I had left. He sent me a message about Niko, about how he missed me.

He trotted off back to his horses but stopped at the district five chariot horses. The horses had caught his eye since they were all white and beautiful. He slowly walked up to them, gently stroking their muzzles

He watched Wolf leave and so he felt like he was done talking as well. He looked at Aubrey again, "Hey, I want to go meet the horses. See you after the parade!" He wandered over to the beige stallions at his chariot and stroked them calmly. One of the horses brown eyes looked at him as if saying, "I don't want to be here either." Nathan sighed and nodded in agreement.
