[The official date for the Games' countdown scene will be next Friday, 3:00 p.m. EST. The gong will ring Saturday morning. For the rest of this week, tributes are free to keep partying, socializing, bragging to fiery redheads, hugging awkward shy guys, anything. ^_^]
At the mention of his punishment, Mitchell just gave an unpleasant snort. He was certain that even if the entire Career alliance attacked him, he could beat them in his sleep, with his limbs chained behind his back. He was silently cheering Jonas on. Together, they would cause a rebellion and take over the most glorious alliance in the history of the Games.
"Jonas Jefferson!" Sally screamed at the top of her lungs, marching over and getting in his face. "How dare you take property without permission! I came up here to talk about your punishment for disrespecting me, now you are being even worse and disrespecting Ally!"
Mortimer, who was sitting on the couch, was making impolite noises whenever she spoke. Sally screeched in rage and threw a pepper shaker at him with all her might. It hit the boy squarely in the forehead. Mortimer stopped making noises.
Clair was sure of three things now. She liked giving hugs, she liked her new friend, and she liked how warm her new friend felt when she hugged him. He reminded her of her teddy bear. Yes, the seventeen-year-old Career still slept with a teddy bear back home. She had to pull away to ease Theo's increasing awkwardness, but she knew she was never going to forget how nice that hug was. The Grant family was highly affectionate, but even for a Grant, Clair was pretty forward.
"Well, it's a good kind of surprise!" she replied cheerfully, looking around the room, her hazel gaze completely aimless. "I love surprises, you know. But, hey, want to talk about the Games so we will get less of the bad surprises? Because those, are, well..." she furrowed her brow, trying to think of a word to impress an intelligent District Three boy. "Bad?"
Well, that worked out pretty well. At least it was something. Grinning, Clair sat down on the couch as if she was at home. It was nice and soft, better than hers for sure. She wasn't complaining, though. Clair was not a complainer at all; she loved life. "Okay. The first thing I think we should do is talk about what the others of our family did, the mistakes they made, and how we can, well, not make those mistakes. You wanna go first with Genesis and Georgina?"
