Maple nodded, running through the list of the teammates in her mind. The District One tributes seemed quite enthusiastic. Their energy would be useful in the days to come, same with Clair. The pair from District Three seemed to be peacemakers, and from what Maple had observed, highly intelligent and empathetic. Her own partner, Leo, was a renowned striker; capable of moving almost impossibly fast with his sword blade, though he lacked in endurance. That was where Maple came in. The defender's strength was to outlast, then overpower. Maple did that best. Many of her allies relied on offensive power, not stamina; Maple was the strong protector they could count on once they began to tire in a fight.
So when she responded, she spoke with all the calm assurance of her politician brethren, like Acacia and Rowan and Willow and countless others before her.
"Indeed."
Clair couldn't help but grin as Theodore opened the door for her. "Hi, Theo!" the little redhead said cheerfully, entering the door and managing not to trip over the threshold, thankfully. His hair was wet, he had probably taken a shower. Clair would take hers early the next morning; she didn't want to wake Cedric, that would be an awfully low move. She didn't see Naomi anywhere, maybe she had already gone to bed. Clair examined the District Three room excitedly. It had many bookshelves, unlike Clair's room, which contained a fishtank for entertainment. The District Four bathroom was also said to be the largest and fanciest; the bathtub was the size of a small pool, and there was even a sauna in the other room.
"I like the decor," she said with a smile, "you guys must be really smart from all these books." Of course one had to read the books to get the information out, but Clair didn't think that hard. "Sorry, I got distracted! I came up here to say something..."
She took a moment to actually think, and then it hit her. "Oh, yeah! Your training score! Ten, I'm so happy for you!" with a delighted squeal she threw her arms around her ally's torso, since she was too short to hug his shoulders. "We will make the best team ever!"
A cheer went up from at least half the alliance as Ally announced Mitchell's punishment. Sally, as usual, was the loudest because of her ridiculous voice.
Mitchell rolled his eyes, he was so arrogant, he didn't think they could beat him anyway. He was the best and strongest human being in existence. He could probably wrestle a thousand lions and come out of the fight without a scratch. "Whatever. I don't really care," he said boldly, still wearing that hideous smirk. Now he looked like Bane and Clark's grandchild; the other half of the family was from Blake and Richie, and somewhere along the line was a bit of Cobalt Carmine.
"Let's get on with the party," he said stupidly, but he thought he sounded cool.
"One more announcement!" Sally screamed over the noise. "Ally and I are still your Queens. Though we are all number one, except Wilma who is number two, we are the most one-est number ones in this alliance." Especially Ally, she thought affectionately. There was not a more attractive woman in Panem. "You must obey us at all times!"
"Yes, ma'am!" Frank said faithfully.
"Now let's get on with the party!" Sally yelled, sticking her tongue out at Mitchell, whose words she had just repeated. But of course, she was better. She was the most amazing person in the world, and nobody could compare with the sheer scale of her grandeur.
