[Alright, that's fine too. Clair can die probably on the next morning of the Games. No worries! ^^]
Clair had been out until midnight, and her anger was not quelled. She was going to vivisect the first non-Career who came near her. Her path was aimless, and soon she found herself in an open, sandy area. Good. All the better to chase down the little feline-lovers and rip them a set of gills. A camp was in the distance. Have all the non-Careers united against us? she thought, even more infuriated. I knew it! They are all going to die for this! I'll make them pay!
She quickened her pace, sprinting towards the camp, and entered with a battle cry...
... Only to realize she was back at her own camp.
Maple kept an close eye on Theodore, while also attentively watching the dark expanse of sand. She could tell her ally was fatigued; he alternated between nodding off and snapping back to alertness, but Maple didn't judge. She was on watch, too -- it was her watch -- and if Theodore hadn't been so anxious after the Clair incident, Maple would have forced him to sleep as well.
She noticed movement in the distance. Immediately she stood with her spear raised, ready to attack the crazed tribute running towards their camp. "Clair," she said, realizing who it was, and lowered her weapon. The small girl tore into the outcrop like she was completely mad. Luckily, recognition flashed in her tearful hazel eyes and she dropped her sword in the sand. Just standing and staring.
The cannons in the distance -- at least one of them was Clair's kill judging by her bloodied blade, illuminated in the campfire's light. However, Maple was not pleased. First Clair had terrified Theodore with a ridiculously cheerful attitude, while attempting to dictate her own death at his hands, and now she had run off. Alone. At night. Without Maple's permission.
"Apologize," Maple commanded sternly, rising to her feet.
"I'm sorry," cried Clair. "I shouldn't have run off like that! I didn't know what to do, I just needed time alone, so I went for a walk... but then I saw Scarlet's picture in the sky and I, and I needed to get revenge." She gazed at her rapier with something resembling shame and regret in her eyes. "I won't -- I won't do stupid stuff again, Maple, I promise I'll tell you where I'm going next time."
Maple was slightly placated, but still not satisfied. "And?"
"Theo, I..." the girl stammered. "What I said was really creepy, wasn't it?"
Maple nodded, folding her arms. She looked like one of those stereotypical, strict Adamson-mothers, disciplining one of her children. Though Maple was a little surprised to see Clair without a smile, it was even more surprising that it took this long for Clair to realize how horrifying she sounded.
"I'm really sorry if I scared you," said Clair. "Really. I n-never wanted to upset anyone. I promise I'll stop saying that kind of stuff if it -- if it makes you uncomfortable."
Maple uncrossed her arms and relaxed her posture, no longer using such unhappy body language. She would be content with Clair's apology as long as Theo was.
