Levi furrowed his eyebrows and sighed, starting to work on his other arm. "I've never been shot, so I couldn't give any words of advice..." He muttered, pausing briefly. "It doesn't look that bad." He reached over and carefully slid the glasses off of Carl's face again. "Coming from the survey corps, I've seen people who have been torn in half, crushed, eaten whole. You're lucky you only got shot in the face, and didn't end up waddling around with no arms." He said, a hint of amusement in his voice. "You're a brave kid."

When the glasses were taken off the boy's gaze lowered, "I'd prefer an amputated leg, or arm...at least that's something that isn't that bad. I've seen a lot of people like it...my dad's missing a hand, but people never seem bothered by the sight of it." He responded, "I've seen the way people look at me. I've seen how disgusted people are when they see it. How sick they feel." Carl stated, now looking at Levi, a frown present on his face. Then he shook his head, "I'm not brave, Levi. I'm just someone who's gone through the apocalypse. My so-called bravery comes from my stupid decisions."

Levi pulled his arms out of the water and sighed. "My friend's missing his arm. People respect him. He made a stupid decision too. But the thing is, he was brave enough to do it." He looked over at Carl and bit the inside of his cheek. "I put my friends in danger in order to lead a Titan into a trap, and they all died because of it. They were brave, because they did what they could to help, even though they knew the outcome. Bravery is acting on that stupid decision even you know that anything could happen."

The thirteen year old tried for a chuckle, "What is it about missing arms and being respected...? My dad's respected too, he's a good guy...doesn't like to kill, doesn't want people to lose themselves in the apocalypse. He likes to try and deal with it without violence...but he's not stupid. If he knows that talking wont fix it, he'll do the right thing...sometimes he gets people killed...but in the long run he saved a lot of lives." Carl said, then offered Levi a smile, "That's like you...you do what you think is right...you might get people killed, sure, but in the long run so many people survive because of your decisions." He pointed out, then hesitated for a moment. Yes, Levi was a complete and utter stranger and the worse thing is to open up too much to someone you don't know because they could always snap and be a completely different person and use what you told them against you, but Carl seemed certain that Levi wasn't that type of guy, he wasn't sure what made him certain, but the boy just knew it. After a moments silence, he spoke once more, "You blame yourself for people's death, anybody would...but you're still a good man, Levi...people think once you get someone killed you're a bad person...but they're wrong. You're still a good man," Now Carl was staring the older male in the eye, "and no matter what, don't let anyone make you think you're not."

Levi managed to give Carl a slight smile, and looked away. "You're like him- my friend, Erwin. The one with the missing arm. He talks sense into people, makes them...stop regretting the past..." He said quietly. "When I met him, I was supposed to kill him. He mocked me and acted violently against me, but I understand why. He taught me to do what I do now." He said quietly. Once he was done, he stood up. "How would you like to come with me back to HQ. Then I can grab my 3D maneuver gear and get fixed up." He suggested. "We can check with your father of course."

"My dad's better with helping people, getting them through the hard times, always someone you can talk to and he'll always know what to say...I guess I try to be like him most of the time." The boy responded, when Levi stood up Carl also rose to his feet, lightly pushing some of his hair out of his face. Once the older male offered Carl go back to HQ with him, the boy was rather surprised, "HQ?" He repeated, then shrugged lightly, "I don't know, dad made a big fuss just because I wanted to go to the Hilltop...but I'm sure he should be fine with it...but I guess I can't blame him for worrying." He said, falling silent for a moment before eventually nodding his head. "But if it would be fine with you, and Erwin, then I would like to see your HQ.."

Levi smiled lightly and nodded, "alright. Lead the way. Your father could always come with us if he's unsure." He suggested, fixing his harness. "And Erwin should be fine with it. Whether he likes it or not, I'm letting you. He may be my superior, but he knows me well enough not to argue." He said, patting Carl's shoulder. "Now, on our way, I would enjoy hearing what these 'walkers' are like."

Carl nodded his head, "I think he'd like to see your HQ...just so he knows where it is, how far it is from Alexandria, and just so he knows what it's like...but it wouldn't hurt if I checked it out before he came...just so he doesn't make a big fuss..." He responded, watching as Levi fixed his harness then he rolled his eye, "You make it sound like you're the one who's really in charge." He said with a somewhat teasing tone. The boy then began to walk, though kept it at a slower pace due to the other's limp. "You want to know about walkers..? Well...uh...where do you want me to start?"

Levi nodded slightly and turned towards the direction of the hq. "I am the one in charge. He's just the one in charge of me." He said, smiling slightly. He sighed, "hmm, tell me what they look like." He decided, crossing his arms. He felt like it couldn't be all that different from the Titans by the way that Carl had described them eating people, but it was only an assumption.
