Everything, in a strange way seemed to make at least a lick of sense as the god continued to run his mouth, as a large crow - which open later inspection he would find to be instead a raven - remained perced on his shoulder, crooning as if the pair held a legible conversation. If they indeed were, Shintaro would pout and demand to be let in on the conversation.
In a past life as Kyrian talked about blight taking the appearance of bruises, the teenager would've been lost in the memory of his childhood friend who had insisted to prod him with chubby fingers one too many times when the other was bruised. It would've brought up the somber days the summer when his friend moved to the countryside. However, this was a new life, a new slab of marble that hadn't yet been carved. As Kyrian pointed out a phantom on the sidewalk, Shintaro couldn't help but think that it was cute. He doubted this was the case for other phantoms from the words the other male spoke that held a grim meaning even though his tone never once wavered.
"How cute." He decided to state simply after a long debate - three seconds at most - since obviously the small phantom was no threat if Kyrian wasn't taking action against it. For the most part, Shintaro stayed silent for the rest of the lecture of sorts, letting the information sink in. He wasn't sure that the god of misfortune wasn't one to tolerate blight considering his earlier words paired with the ones before. It didn't sound like rainbows and kittens.
His dark eyes followed every last step Kyrian took, slowly blinking as an arm drapped over his shoulder before they flickered up to see the god, head still as gooseflesh ran down the small of his back as the voice tickled his ear, a grin slowly forming as Kyrian took a step back and winked.
He caught the devious undertone to it but Shintaro couldn't find himself caring. "Hmm, theres much to be jealous of, Kyrian."
"However, my attire is not one of them." He trailed off, glancing down at the plain white garb he appeared to be wearing, nose crinkling in a childish manner.
