Farther away, on the other side of the cabins, Jerome could see a young girl leading a tall man through the grass. He took off running, waving his good arm and shouting, "Hey! Hey!" When he reached them, he stopped and looked at the two. The girl looked a bit older than he'd first thought- older than him. The man was older than her, but still quite young, and Jerome didn't recognize them either. "Hey, uh, do y'all know what's goin' on?" he asked in his strong Southern drawl.
