The Netherrealm is a realm in the Mortal Kombat series. The Netherrealm is comparable to Hell in the Abrahamic faiths. It seems to resemble an eternal volcanic "continent", containing many volcanoes and lava pits.

About the Netherrealm

The Netherrealm appears to be like Outworld, a realm composed of thousands of different layers. In the Mortal Kombat universe, deceased souls or entities who have committed major crimes descend into the Netherrealm to undergo endless torture. In fact, one cannot enter the Netherrealm without being evil or having a soul tainted with evil. Additionally, magic users and magical beings are slowly weakened while in this realm. It is also described as "the darkest region of reality", and is inhabited by demons, monsters, and beings of the purest evil.

Though exits from and entrances to the Netherrealm are very limited for obvious reasons, the world had quite a tumultuous history. Millions of years ago, the fallen Elder God Shinnok was banished there. After ages of imprisonment, he was able to break free, deposing Lucifer in the process. He restructured the realm to bear some resemblance to Earthrealm, the world which he had long desired to make his own.

Powers/abilities: he's a beginner at sorcery, he will bite, and he can turn into a hellhound occasionally
Allies: Shinnok, Quan Chi, Shao Kahn
Enemies: Raiden, Shinnok, Shao Kahn (he doesn't like Shinnok or Shao Kahn very much)
Crush: none, can never have one due to the fact that he's dead and was reanimated
Personality: mysterious, loyal, and honest
History: While he was alive he worked with Raiden, and he lived alone. Though one evening, Raiden brought Sub Zero and him along to the Netherrealm, to hopefully defeat Quan Chi. Unfortunately the plan didn't go to well, Raiden watched while Sub Zero fought the sorcerer, but lost, and sent Hunter to fight Quan. While they were fighting, Raiden suddenly argued with Sub Zero, and when they looked back at the fight, Quan pinned Hunter down with his foot, and killed him. After Raiden and Sub Zero left, Quan took Hunter's soul and reanimated him as a pet/slave.
Other: he dislikes being called a boy, and he is loyal to Quan Chi

Powers/abilities: Has the ability to turn parts of her body into a teal colored crystal, creating a handy amour. She is also very good with swords. Oh, and she knows how to teleport.
Allies: The good guys like Sonya Blade and Jax.
Enemies: Shao Kahn and his little 'friends'.
Crush: Eh, none at the moment
Personality: Sarah is...emotionless, or at least, she looks like that. She is actually hiding her over-emotional self because of her curse. She is friendly and kind, but if she takes a disliking to you, she will never stop throwing snarky comments at you. She is extremely stubborn. If she wants something done, it will get done. At all costs.
History: Sarah was a human teenager when she got involved with a curse that trapped her in a crystal statue. In that statue, she learned that her emotions were connected to her curse. As long as she did't feel too much emotion, the crystal wouldn't cover her body. Now she has learned how both remove and get the crystal armor when it was most convenient. When she learned Shao Kahn tried to take over Earthrealm, she said "Oh hell no" and took sword fighting classes before joining the Earthrealm crew to the tournament.
Other: She has long black hair in two low ponytails and a bob. She has forest green eyes and a fair skin. She wears a white tank top with white fingerless gloves and white shorts with two pink belts. One goes around her waist, the other around her shoulder and holds her crystal sword. She wears pink boots.
