Percy is quite snarky at times, but deep down inside he has a caring, loving personality and will do anything to help out someone in need, even if it means giving up his own life. He's just a bit crotchety is all.

He's never thought of himself as anything but a commoner, yet the other Teuthida around him always told him that he would make an excellent healer.
Why?
Because they could see the through his rock-solid personaity to his soft and loving inner soul. Not until later did he realize what he really wanted to be. A Healer.
