Shadow felt the surge. It felt familiar. Gently, and quietly slipping out of Kat's arms, he gathered his gear, and went to the generator room to find Sable.

"Sable, what's going on? I felt the surge."

Once the elevator doors slowly opened, Sable cautiously stepped out of the elevator and ventured out into the generator room. To sweep over a place like this would take a large chunk of time considering the fact that this specific room was massive. It was the equivalent size of a warehouse with a few catwalks for the engineers of the City to use. She was walking through one of the rows that would bring her closer to the damaged generator right as she heard someone on her communication channel. It must have been a system wide occurrence if he had been down here. Also to investigate the root cause of it. She paused when she reached the failed generator, and briefly skimmed over it to get the basics of what was going on. With the clouds of gray smoke billowing from it, it was kind of hard to tell what had happened to it.It definitely wasn't a malfunction of some kind.It almost appeared like if someone had purposely damaged it. She was about to crouch down to see what could be done, until she heard someone connect to her communications channel."One of the generators completely failed.Extensive damage on the right side. We need to contact one of the engineers...No...security first. It looks li-" she was beginning to say, but that was when the sound of static suddenly interrupted her train of thought. She blinked her eyes a few times, not knowing why her helmet had just did that. A blur of motion caused for her to flick her gaze upwards, just as someone dropped down from the catwalk above. She was about to switch her weaponry that was best suited for close quarters combat, but that was when her senses went numb when she took those few steps backwards to create some distance. The edges of her vision blurred before her whole world was engulfed in pitch darkness. There was no sound other than a medallion forged of an unusual gem clattering to the ground.

A cloaked person that had been watching from afar, eventually stepped from out of the shadows and into the light when they spotted a Guardian.A Hunter to be more precise. The three classes were easy to distinguish based on their build and the type of armor that usually adorned them. The hooded cloak itself was a dead giveaway. She too, had been one of them at some point of time. No longer, did she ally herself with the cursed Light.She had found individuals much like herself out there in the wilds were no Guardian stepped foot.Together, they banded and done things that a single man could not accomplish themselves. A light smile pulled at the corners of her lips, before she spoke aloud."So...you are the one that they call Shadow-16? Quite an impressive track record.You are the textbook example of a Guardian." she was starting to say, as she casually leaned against one of the other generators that was functioning properly like if this was any other casual conversation that a stranger might strike up."...Your team as well.Kat. The lone wolf.Strong girl. Tough as nails. Then, there is Jahoan. An interesting background. Knowledgeable when it comes to medical expertise." she continued on, just as two silhouettes appeared behind her."It's really a shame that we had to cross paths like this." she added, while her hand brushed the holster of her belt.She did not make any further movements after that.

Shadow watched the Hunter carefully, his hand hovering near Word of Crota.

"Leave my team out of this. Who are you?"
(Can we have this mysterious Hunter shoot Word of Crota to destroy it? I really want to bring in Ace of Spades.)

The Hunter tilted her head slightly to the side, just as she heard his reply.Oh? Looks like she hit a nerve.She had also kept a close eye on his movements, and he also, had his hand hovering close to his holster."My name? Hmm.Sure.Why not? After all, this will not be the last time you will be seeing me. I have to give you a name of some sort so you have something to write down in your reports, correct?" she started to say, while she moved away from the generator that she had been leaning against earlier."I already have one of your teammates.Oh, what was it? Saren? Sabrina? Sabine?Meh.Something like that." she said, while she removed her pistol from out of the holster."My,my will this look bad.One of the high-ranked Guards of the Awoken...gone." she added with a sound that almost resembled laughter near the end of the sentence."The name is Ethel. But out there in the wilderness, I go by a different name." she said, as her pistol made a soft clicking sound."You might have heard about me.For I am called the Ring Master." she added, as she flicked her gaze over towards his direction."Your Traveler might have granted you some saving grace." she added as she distributed more of her weight on one of her legs to tailor more of a fighting stance.She then whipped her pistol from out of its holster, before aiming down the cross-hairs in that short fragment of time.She squeezed the trigger, and there was the deafening crack of the pistol. She didn't aim at the Guardian. Maybe she skimmed his hand.Her real target had been whatever he was carrying in that holster of his. It was to leave him defenseless. She holstered her pistol with a small tsking sound coming from her."Gotta be more quicker than that,Guardian.I'll give you an additional ten seconds to hurry along to that elevator in the back.Don't look back.Just...keep...on....running." she concluded, but she did not know that something had been occurring behind her. A fallen apart Vex timegate with a large cloth draping over it began to glow as if to signify that something was about to come from out of the portalway.

Shadow gasped as Word of Crota was destroyed.

"You seem to be forgetting something. Guardians don't abandon they're friends."

He summoned Ace of Spades from his Ghost and fired at a fuel barrel, which exploded into bright light. Quickly cloaking he grabbed Sable, and went to the elevator. Slamming the door shut, he pressed the up button.

Even if she rendered him defenseless at that moment of time, it seemed like the Hunter pulled a trick from out of his sleeve.With the connection between a Guardian and a Ghost, he managed to conjure some other pistol that packed more of a punch than the other. From the explosion of the fuel barrel, Ethel had been knocked from off her feet, and was sent rolling a few times, before she got back up.She flicked her gaze over to one of her companions, only then to notice that he had been the one responsible to taking the captive back to base. Both Guardians were nowhere to be found.She cursed underneath her breath, before motioning for them to make a retreat."At least, it wasn't a complete failure of a mission." she murmured, just as she caught a glimpse of the broken vex timegate losing its glow.Beyond creepy. Without another wasted second, they made their retreat back out into the wilderness.As soon as they were gone,a figure stepped from out of the timegate just as the light faded.The Titan cocked his head curiously to the side, when he saw something glint from the corner of his eye.He picked it up, and flipped the medallion over, before lifting his gaze up to look straight at the elevator that recently closed.

As soon as the elevator was beginning its ascent, Lucian materialized beside his owner. At first, the movements of the Ghost seemed...unusual. Almost like the equivalent of a human when they weren't fully aware and groggy. He then shook once, and turned rapidly to look directly at Sable."Sable!" he said with concern laced in his voice. He drifted close to her to perform a quick scan on her."Unresponsive. Unconscious. We need to take her to the medical ward.Or to Jah-No.The medical ward." he was starting to say as he remained floating where he was.The good thing? It didn't seem like anything serious.Her breathing seemed normal.Slow and steady like if in a resting state.No injuries. Perhaps, they used some sort of sedative or maybe even a temporary paralysis? But that wouldn't explain why her Ghost had also been affected.Whatever it was, those people knew what they were doing. But why was it that they suddenly grew interest to sabotage and even try and attempt to take down not one but two Guardians? If no one else would have been there, by the Traveler, he didn't even want to think what would have happened. "Petra is going to use me for spare parts if she hears about this."Lucian muttered lowly, before he vanished from out of thin air.

"Nyte, scan Sable."

Nyte appeared and scanned Sable.

"To me, it seems her connection to the light has been paralyzed. She's still alive, but barely. That shiny medallion thing we left behind seems to have done the damage. If we stayed any longer, she might have died. You would have too."

Shadow nodded. He did feel quite dizzy back in the generator room. He was aiming for the dark guardian named Ethel, but hit the barrel instead.

"Come on. We better get her to the medical ward."

Soon, the elevator came to a stop, and he put Sable onto his shoulder.

"Help, someone! We need a medic! Also, get the Vanguard! There's been an attack on the Tower!"

Nikki kept sitting on her crate. The sudden noise of someone yelling, made her lift up her head. She placed her shot gun on her back before she looked towards Lobo. She didn't speak a word as she got up, nodding to him.

Lobo hovered next to Nikki. " Sounds like it's coming from there. I don't recgonize the voice, bit it appears it's another gurdian. This must not be good if we need to let the vanguard know. " He said, before he floated after her.

Nikki came to a halt when she noticed another gurdian carrying one that looled hurt. She looked at Lobo who spoke again for her. " I can go get a medic and Wolf will go to the vanguard.

Without another word, Nikki was off again. She quickly ran to the Vanguard, calling their names as she slowed to a halt.

Meanwhile, Lobo went off to get a medic. Minutes later, he was back with the medic.

The medic gasped. " What exactly happened? Follow me and hurry. " He said.

Right as the other Ghost mentioned a paralysis or a sever in the connection of Light, that was when Lucian was beginning to worry. Both Ghost and Guardian depended on one another. A Ghost could not survive without their Guardian for too long. After all, they only contained a small amount of Light comparing to their Guardian. A Guardian could survive without the Ghosts, but they technically wouldn't be a Guardian anymore. Once they were dead, they were dead.No revives.Their Light would dissipate and become non-existent. They would become normal like any other civilian out there. Or worse, fall into the temptations and curse of the darkness. To become notorious and feared like Dredgen Yor. Cases like that have happened before. More than once.Lucian glanced briefly over to Nyte as he mentioned something about a medallion."A medallion? Wait...my owner...Sable. She often carries a medallion made of sodalite." Lucian was beginning to say."It's a type of gemstone.Not to be all warlock-y, but it is believed to be an awakener of the third eye by old texts before the Golden age." he explained briefly.It was a gift from another warlock.One with a name which would not be spoken aloud. His fear was, that whoever they encountered down in the generator room, found a dark source equivalent to one of the stone-like siphons used by the Traveler in one of the chambers on the Moon.If they had access to that, they were in deep trouble. If such short exposure managed to throw off two Guardians, imagine what it could do in large quantity or prolonged exposure. Once they reached the medical ward, a few Guardians looked over their way. Sometimes, they would come here for routine check-ups and assessments of injury from the field. Two of them automatically walked up to Shadow and had taken Sable from off his shoulder.One of the nurses motioned for the Guardians to bring her to one of the unoccupied rooms for further assessment.They set her down on the bed, before the Guardians walked from out of the room.
