Zack watched her with careful eyes as she seemed to ponder over the question. It was stupid idea to ask her a question like that. Of course she'd say no. Of course she'd think of him in a different manor now. There was no way someone like him- with a past like his- could have someone like Claire to call their own- Zack's thoughts came to an abrupt stop as Claire leaned towards him and pressed her plush lips to his. When she pulled away, Zack's eyes searched hers' desperately. What did that mean...?

Then, came her words, and Zack finally understood. At first, only a small, warm-hearted smile stretched across Zack's lips, then, came a huge grin and he held her close to himself. As she entwined her slender fingers within his, he sighed contently and shook his head gently at her words. I don't deserve anything better than what I've got now. He knew that that was completely untrue. Claire deserved so much more than what Zack could offer her. Even if he went to his utter extremes for her, it still wouldn't be anything close to what she truly deserved. Shoving the thoughts aside, he would leave them be for a while. For now, he was more than content with Claire resting in his loving, strong arms.

Merr leant back, unhooking his front paws from the bark of the tree. Then, instead of falling, he leapt across to another tree, making sure to keep his head back so that he didn't smash it against Ivan's. That wouldn't be very helpful. Shifting his throat as best he could, he looked down at Ivan, staring into his eyes. "Yeah, we're lost. But don't worry, I'll get us both out of here..." He muttered the rest to himself, almost silent. 'She could have left us anywhere else...' He wasn't very happy with Ami. He wasn't sure if she even meant anything she had ever said, not to mention the fact that she dropped them off in the middle of nowhere and flown away...

Taka clambered to his hooves, lifting his head high with his ears pricked. There were voices... He could hear them perfectly... One was quite growly and the other... afraid? A small but wicked grin swept across his face. They always tasted better when they were afraid. Although the scent of the other worried him, it was canine but it was also human, and something else... He didn't understand it.

Ivan's heart sunk, though he didn't know why; he'd already suspected they were lost. Actually hearing it from Merr though wasn't helping anything. Of course, he didn't blame Merr for admitting it, he had fished for it in a way. He nodded back to his friend, letting a small 'okay' slip from behind his collar. Without really thinking, Ivan climbed away from Merr and rested himself down on the branch; if it was big enough for the demon it was definitely big enough to sit on. He let his legs hang under him, off the branch and kicked them back and forth before turning his head to glance at Merr. "I...I trust you, I think..." Though the demon could easily loose his control, and had done questionable things, he had good intentions and seemed to come through when needed. It might not have sounded like much, coming from Ivan's weak, uncertain and almost constantly fearful voice, but he did believe him when he said he'd find their way.

Taka stepped cautiously under the tree that held Ivan and Merr. Slipping his horn back out, and changing the way others thought he looked, he whinnied loudly at he two as if he was lost as well. A lone unicorn is not exactly something you see every day. Blinking slowly, his head tilted in confusion, he stared up at them, his eyes telling them that he was scared and alone...

Hearing the whinny, Ivan leaned forwards over the branch to take a peek at what was below them. To his surprise, and utter confusion, stood a unicorn...or what looked to be one because such a thing couldn't be real, could it? Either way, it looked afraid and was staring straight up at them. "U-um...Hello?" Ivan pulled his legs up from under him, not standing, but only moving away from the creature. It probably was a silly idea to talk to the thing, and even more so to be afraid of it. Still, Ivan edged away as far as he could without falling down the other side, keeping his eye on it as best he could.

Chase

"You're right." the man muttered, running a hand through his hair again and glancing at Rose. "We have to help them, or at least try. It shouldn't be too far away, but we can't fly, because they would see us the moment we got too high. And...I think we should find Ivan first. I guess I'm a little worried about him, I'm certain that the humans will go for him first..." he trailed off. "Let's go." he finished, a vicious glare appearing in his eyes as he imagined what could happen to his friends.


Amiselle

The small, helpless fairy, weeping in a forest, alone...With no chance of escaping death. thought Ami, wiping the remains of her tears as she turned fully human once again and stood up. Except that I'm not helpless. And I definitely have a chance. she added, a grim smile making its way onto her face as she followed her footsteps back to where she left Merr. She didn't know why she was doing this, she just knew that she had to. If she ran away on her own, she would be hated forever. And if she stopped here and killed herself, they would think that she had run away and hate her even more. So, she turned back. An image of her earlier path was still in her mind, so she found her two lost friends without many problems, although she got lost once and a bush raked across her skin, so her arm was bleeding a little. "I'm sorry." she whispered to them again, nodding in acknowledgement at the unicorn with a small frown and turning back to Ivan in the tree.

Merr's pupils dilated as the scent of her blood carried on the wind towards him. He licked his fangs but didn't make any movements towards her. His ears twitched but didn't flick back, he wasn't angry, nor driven by blood, he was just cautious. She had lost his trust... And although he was already beginning to trust her again, it would be a while before he could fully trust her.

"Great. So, I got you and Ivan out of the building, but you still don't trust me and are angry are me. Do you really prize words over actions? I had to lie! If I didn't, you would have been put to sleep or killed, Ivan would be being used as a killer pet and I would still be sitting in that cage. Of course, if you didn't attack me, it wouldn't have worked. If I had tried to break my bondages, it would take me so much time that two guards would have appeared to kill me before I even got free. So, thank you, but your fury doesn't make any sense. Would you have gotten me out so quickly if I was nice and quiet? I did this to protect you and all you do is tell me that you don't trust me anymore." she said, angry tears filling her eyes as she finally told them her whole plan.
