C o l d . But I'm still here.
As the gas was abruptly shut off and air was moving freely through the enclosures again, Ivan was able to suck in the air he was so desperately searching for. His chest heaved, momentarily lifted him away from the grating separating his enclosure from Merr's. It was an unexpected amount of oxygen, his lungs hadn't been ready after the air was completely drained, and Ivan coughed violently until he was able to breath regularly. for him, at least, as his breathing came in short panicky breaths. Just when he thought things were settling again, a voice started off, somewhere in his head. Ivan was able to listen closely; this wasn't the first time something like that had happened. He squeezed his eye closed underneath the blindfold, fighting with the words in his head. Obey you? Serve you? No emotion...?
B l i n d . 'Cause I'm so blind.
