Rose narrowed her eyes at Merr slightly as he spoke of eating children and using their bones and blood for toothpicks and mouthwash. Rose rolled her eyes as he laughed and phased his hands and feet back slowly. Flinching slightly as she imagined the pain he'd be going through. She knew that pain all too well, she herself had to phase into a completely different form and she knew it hurt... a lot. Especially if it went slowly. After a few moments, she hadn't noticed that Ivan had dropped his arms and tooken her hand. She felt his cool hand around her and gently squeezed it, she knew seeing Merr change like this would put anyone out of comfort.

Charlie watched everything nervously, he didn't like being nervous like this infront of others. But, he was more than relieved that his sexuality hadn't been discovered yet, and maybe he could even become friends with the group of people. They seemed nice enough- His thoughts were cut of as Merr spoke of eating people, his eyes widened and he wondered if they were all nice enough... As he laughed at them he frowned. It wasn't his fault that his face was one of horror. The guy had just said he'd use children's bones as toothpicks! Was he supposed to smile and be completely relaxed instead? Unlikely.

"Oh come on. Lighten up people. You know I wouldn't do that..." He looked away, muttering under his breath. "With you watching..." In case they had heard anything, he jerked his neck, forcing his head to look back at them. "Nothing... I said nothing..." He smirked at them once again, enjoying this. He could taste their fear, inhaling it made him smile even more. It was almost like a drug, he was addicted to it, the scent drove him crazy inside.

"What do you mean 'you're choice'?" Ebony said, confused.

[Rose.]

Rose raised a brow at Merr as he spoke then looked away. Rolling her eyes she yawned and rubbed her eyes. She hadn't realised how tired she was... and now that they were just hanging around, the fatigue was really catching up on her. Merr's muttering under his breath was clear in her ears and made her eyes widen. "Merr do not say that!" She snapped, frowning slightly. Why was he being such an idiot all of a sudden? She realised that she was a little bit more tired than she thought, and her temper was rising slightly. Frowning deeper, she decided to keep her mouth shut unless she needed to actually speak. She didn't want to say something too mean or anything like that.

Zack shrugged, callling over his shoudler, "It's your choice whether you hurt me harder or not next time." He explained simply and continued to walk at a slow human rate in the opposite direction to her, widing in between the sudden population of trees.

Merr was trying to find a way to cheer himself up, Ami and Chase had hurt him quite badly inside and his only way of relieving it was annoying and frightening. "Like I would... Hmm... Actually, their blood is purer than an adults... Nah, just joking. That was Sombra's job, but he is gone, and I no longer have to drink blood to keep my going. I can only do it every so often now if I need quick energy. Huzzah." He smirked at them all, gritting his teeth as he shifted his tails. Bone crunched together, pain shooting through his body enough to make him cry out... Which was a lot, he hated showing vulnerability...

Ebony growled, Zack was annoying her now. She turned and walked off in the opposite direction, she had no idea where she was going.

Ivan sent Merr a disgusted look and turned as he attempted to shift again, was he actually laughing about it? About murdering children? Suddenly he didn't feel so good. He looked down at the hand Rose was holding as she squeezed it and then back up at her, weaving his fingers in the spaces between hers. "He didn't mean that...did he?" He asked, unsure, even if she said no he knew he'd still have his doubts. Right after he had asked, Merr was assuring them that he wouldn't. Ivan hadn't heard what he had said after it but it was clear by the smirk on his face that he hadn't said the whole truth. He was becoming increasingly uncomfortable with the demon and chewed his lip, taking a half step away from him. His bright blue eye skimmed over everyone, it was clear he was struggling to keep the calm that came so rarely to him. "Oh-" Ivan turned as Rose yawned, remembering that when they had the chance to rest she had refused. "Rose, I'm sure it's okay now...If you wanna-" He was cut off as she snapped at Merr but Ivan tried hard to ignore him, he didn't think it was funny at all. "If you wanted to rest..."

[Rose.]

Rose sighed in frustration, Merr was being an idiot, and she was pretty sure that he knew he was as well. Ivan's question brought her out of her thoughts and she ran over his question several times in her mind. She pursed her lips, and decided to tell Ivan what she thought. There was no point in saying that he didn't mean it, or that he did. "I don't know..." She mumbled, the thought that he was serious was beginning to dominate over the fact that he was joking in her mind. Rose frowned slightly as she noticed Ivan's eye darting around and she knew he was become less and less calm every second that ticked by. And Merr's annoying comments probably contributed a fair bit to that factor. "Don't worry," Rose made her voice as calm and collected as she could, and even managed a small smile. Listening to him, she bit her lip, the smile faultering almost automatically. "I don't want to sleep with Merr like this," He mumbled to him and frowned slightly.

Charlie sat down on the grass, watching them all, his multi-coloured eyes jumping from one person to another until they rested on Merr. He let his gaze hesitate on him for a second, until he registered what he was doing and he quickly averted his eyes. The idea of a human turning physically into something that's out of thie world made a shiver run up his spine.

Zack rolled his eyes and broke into a ran, darting between trees and finally jumping up into one. Perching lightly on a branch and letting his legs dangle under him. He let his pale hand run along the rough bark and finally ripped off and piece and snapped it several times in his fingers before throwing it onto the ground below. He pulled off another piece and squeezed it as hard as he could in his palm, moving his fingers in a grinding motion until opening his hand again and raising his brows at the sawdust that was seconds ago bark. "Cool," He muttered, re-peating the process again and again and letting the dust rain down to the ground.

"...Please Rose?" Ivan pleaded, his voice quiet and flooded with concern. It wasn't fair that she felt like she needed to keep herself awake. "I-If you're worried about Merr's shift...I'm sure he'll be okay..." Merr had cried out but Ivan felt no sympathy for him after what he'd said, and he knew that the demon was strong...it wouldn't hurt for too long...Though, he could only guess. As his thoughts started to grow more negative he shook them out of his head and frowned. With a small and shaky sigh Ivan shifted his gaze onto Rose, his blue eye searching hers. "Please?" He felt uneasy about asking her again, even though she had already refused, as he wasn't one to push others but his concern was outweighing any reason he had to stay silent.

Seeing Rose brought tears to Steph's eyes. She took a shaky step forward and hugged her arms to her body as she muttered soothing words to herself. She smiled at her best friend and moved closer before suddenly stopping in her tracks, "Erik's dead." She said, forgetting to whisper and it came out louder than she had expected. Instantly her hand went to her mouth, hoping Rose hadn't heard that.
