Link . . . Male . . . Legend of Zelda . . . Frustrated . . . Callie
Callie took the handle back from Link, but he was barely paying attention. He didn't like the looks of the room they'd just entered. Something about it felt . . . off. The library had seemed harmless enough too, but the minute they'd started touching things they were attacked by a mob of angry books. So providing a little study for the two to read over the books they'd collected seemed a bit too kind for a place like this. Link frowned, examining the walls, floors, and furniture. There wasn't anything suspicious to see, however, leaving the elf frustrated. Something was wrong with this room. He could feel it in his bones that something was wrong. Callie was already busying herself reading, so Link sighed and at last turned his attention to his own book.
"The Horrors of the Castle" - Author Unknown. Link raised a brow and flipped open to the Table of Contents. It wasn't what he'd expected. The table was just a list of rooms. Ballroom, Basement, Bed Chambers, East Wing, Grand Staircase, Great Hall, Kitchens, Library (found that one), so on and so forth. Link flipped open to the section entitled "The Library" and began to read. It described where the room was located, the size of the room, how it was used, etc. But down further a phrase caught his eye: Beat. Excitement sent a spark of energy through Link as he kept reading. "Callie, I think this book describes what obstacles are in the different rooms! This section is on the library, and listen: 'Removing trigger books from the shelves sets off a defense mechanism, allowing books to beat the trespassers even until death'. I'm pretty sure that's what just happened. Maybe it'll be useful in getting out of here." Link went to flip to another section, but was puzzled to see the remaining pages were blank. "Hm?" He flipped backwards, but those were empty as well. "That's weird, the rest is blank. I guess we can only read about the rooms we've been in. So much for that helping us." He slammed the book shut and tiredly set it onto the desk. Well what was the point of that? For a second the thought collecting the book was worth it, but now- ugh. Why was this stupid castle so confusing? "Maybe . . ." He started pacing about the space as he thought, "Maybe we have to visit all of the rooms depicted in the book's table of contents in order to escape the castle? Could that be it? Oh, but then what are the other two books for?"
