Amare saw the girl's disappointment and tried to give her a reassuring look. "Now, now, it is not so bad," he said to her brightly. "You should enjoy this time with your brother while it lasts. Make the most of every moment." Amare began walking down the rows of houses, looking carefully at the people that walked by.

"So," Daniella started. "What's..your favorite color?"

Syth arched an eyebrow, and shrugged. "Blue, black or silver," he mumbled.

"Did we already go over this?" Daniella asked. "That answer sounds familiar."

Syth shrugged again. "I have literally no idea if we did or not,"

Kyoko grumbled something. I'll just have to find myself a friend...someone who will help me.... "Uh-huh...ya..." She said as if she was listening, but she was already making a plan.

(I think at first she plans to use Amare to get the elixir, but she slowly starts actually liking him...mmmm)

Amare shrugged his broad shoulders and continued walking on, wary of the people they passed by on either side of the street. There was no face he recognized, but he could never know anymore. There were plenty of people in Summerland who might go out of their way to deal with Amare. That was what made his trips into Summerland so dangerous. Already Amare longed for the shores of Portland, and his lighthouse there. "Are we going in the right direction?" Amare asked the girl, waving at the row of houses. "Which one is yours?"

Kyoko pointed to a blueish house. "that one." She muttered and glanced at him

Amare caught the girl's gaze but could not determine the emotions behind it. Holding her stare, he walked in the direction she had indicated, looking thoughtful. "What is your name young ma- I mean, miss?" Amare asked her, refraining from calling her "young maiden" again.
