Christian shuffled through the hallway, head down. He didn't like school, and today was an especially bad day. Gloria, still mad at him from the night before, was giving him the silent treatment and had ordered all of her fellow cheerleaders, as well as the New Alice Panthers football team, to be as rude to him as possible.
"Hey, Christian," one of the cheerleaders said, swishing by in her short skirt and curly blonde extensions. Her friends giggled as she crooned, "How's the leg feeling?"
Christian's leg was a mess of scars from the night the cheerleaders had turned him into a wolf. He knew better than to respond as he hurried by, racing the bell to his first class of the day: Sophomore Geometry. He didn't want to face Gloria again, as he knew he'd have to, but it would be even worse to be marked late or absent.

Daniel turned in his bed,finally hearing his alarm after about five minutes of it going off.He shook his head,looking at the time.Yup,he was totally going to be late.Whatever,who cared.He litterally rolled out of his bed and rubbed his eyes,going over to his closet to get some clothes,slip them on,and head to the bathroom.Ah,the everyday routine,get up,get dressed,wash your face and brush your teeth.He slid down the rail of the stairs,grabbing his backpack,and walking out of the door.He wasn't the one who though breakfast was important.He could go a whole day without eating and still not be hungry anyway.He looked to the right,to the left,then crossed the street,starting to walk down the side walk.It took about five minutes to get to school from his house.

And what do you know!Five minutes later,he was at school,on his way to Sophomore Math.All of his Sophomore classes were first in his day.Just then the late bell rang,about a minute later he was getting into the classroom,and to his seat,dropping his bookbag to the side of his chair.Class would start in about a few seconds.He ran a hand through his hair,he never did it in the morning,it just naturally had that 'look'.Then he too the time to notice that he had gotten lucky today,for once.

Christian tried desperately to ignore Gloria shooting daggers at him from the back of the room. As the bell rang, someone came in late. With an annoyed glance as Daniel adjusted his hair, Christian opened his binder as the teacher instructed, taking out his homework. There were dark circles under his eyes, and he was visibly tired from his night out as a wolf. That was the bad part about his new, semi-human species. He didn't know if it outweighed the good,
"You're late," he whispered as Daniel sat down next to him. He knew the other boy didn't really care, and Christian envied that about him. How nice it would be to be able to skip and not worry about the consequences.

Nettles wandered into the class well after the bell and handed the teacher a pass. "I'm so sorry," she apologized, smoothing back her brown curls with a shaky smile as she went to her seat. "I was just- my alarm clock broke, and I stayed up late last night because I was worrying because tonight I'm going to become a wo-"
She broke off abruptly as half the class turned to glare at her. "Sorry," she mouthed with a sheepish grin. The teachers and other adults weren't supposed to know about the werewolves. Nettles cradled her vintage Polaroid, one of several cameras she owned, where it hung on a strap around her neck as she dug through her backpack, realizing she'd forgotten her homework yet again.

Daniel shrugged,"Like it matters."He whispered quietly back to Christion,opening his bookbag to get out his binder,along with his homework and a pen.His homework was fully done,it wasn't wrinkled,and he was positive that he had gotten everything right.He ahd textbooks at home,which he used to his advantage for homework and whatnot.Its how he got to these Sophomore classes.He places his binder in a corner of his desk,his homework just ontop of it,and his pen in his hand.Yeah,he had to be neat.He hated when things were cluttered and messy,it was just a pet peeve of his.

Glancing up briefly as Nettles came in, Christian smirked back at Daniel. "That's kind of... contradictory," he observed, gesturing to Daniel's neatly organized desk. "For someone who doesn't care how late he is, you sure are careful with your work." He tried to seem happy and cheerful, but failed, sighing as someone from behind him threw a tiny wadded-up pellet of paper at his head. "Daniel, I'm in trouble again," he confided, glancing back as his girlfriend stuck her tongue out at him.

"Just a thing of mine.Its like...instinct to make my things neat..."Daniel cotninued to whisper,following Christians gaze to Gloria,then abck at him."With her?Personally,I say breakup.She just a stuck-up prissy girl.Someone needs to teach her a lesson,really."He murmered quietly,he was about to say more,but stopped as the teacher gave him a 'don't start this up again' sort of look,which made him stop immediatly.

"I can't do that!" Christian protested, waiting for the teacher to turn away before continuing. "I don't want to... hurt... her." He trailed off and looked behind him as he realized that of course Gloria would be fine without him. She'd probably be overjoyed if he dumped her. Frowning, he continued, "Maybe I should. You're right."

Selene woke up, still lying across the bench. She shook her head, mad at herself for having doing so as she stretched and stood up. She looked at her watch which read a time past 8. She was late on her first day anyway, just for a different reason than the one she had considered last night. She quickly walked into the school, and to the secretary's office.
"Late again Matt?" a female voice crooned as she shut the door. She walked farther into the office and the lady paused, obviously having no idea who she was. "I'm Selene, Selene Knight," she said smoothly as her eyes pierced through the lady's green ones. "Ah, I see," the lady said obviously understanding now. "Couldn't find the school?" the lady questioned sympathetically. Selene shrugged. "Something like that," she responded, yawning lightly as she noticed the light pain in her back. She was never going to sleep on a bench again, that was for sure.
"Well dear, here's your schedule. Let me know if you have any questions, I'll be in here for most of the day. Other than that, that's all I can think of telling you. Your first class is down the hall, and to the left," The secretary said with a smile as her lightly manicured hand gave the schedule to Selene. She took it and left the office as soon as she could. Her steps were slow as she stared around the hallway, examining the various posters and walls of the high school. You'd never think wolves were among the students at this school. No, you'd never believe that anyway.
She walked into her first class and sat down in the back, hoping to avoid confrontation with the teacher. But, she wasn't that lucky. "Late are we miss....," the teacher started but trailed off when he couldn't recognize her face. "I'm sorry sir, I had trouble finding the school. My name is Selene Knight, I'm the new student," she said staring at the ground instead of at the other students as they bored holes into her head. Thankfully they couldn't see her eyes, as her hair was over them.
"Of course, but please try to be on time tomorrow. We do not encourage tardiness here Miss Knight," the teached said with a hard smile as he turned back to the bored and began writing on it again. Selene shook her head and looked out the window, paying no attention to the student's around her.

"Its for your own good anyway.You might be eaten alive if you stay with her any longer,she is a shark you know?"Daniel whispered,his British accent evident as he spoke.He reffered to Gloria as a shark,because,she was.A killer.Maybe not physically,but emotionally and socialy.Because she was popular,your social life can be crushed in a snap by rumors,and your emotions could be toyed with if you were a guy.If you were a girl,well,she said some pretty mean things from time to time.See,this is the whole reason he didn't hang out with the 'popular' kids.Most of them were rotten and spoiled.Their always were one or two nice ones,but they were always shut out by the others.So basically,sharks are bad,because they eat people.Don't hang out with them.
