As she watched Selene walk away, Gloria pulled her lips back in a silent snarl. How dare she, she thought. Gloria was one of the school's most popular girls, and was definitely used to getting what she wanted. She clenched her teeth, but realized that violence was not the answer here. Gloria could be evil when she needed to, but physical abuse was unseemly in someone of her status. So she crouched to the ground and willed herself to change, letting the pain drive human thought from her mind. Her fur bristled, and she had to pace back and forth a few times before she could calm down. Then she looked around. Where's Christian? she thought.
While Gloria was changing, Christian had bounded forwards to follow Selene. Casting uneasy glances back at his girlfriend, he fell into step next to her and wished he could be human right then so he could say what he wanted to. Don't worry, the change isn't bad. You don't have to be a monster. Not all werewolves are monsters; Gloria's just cruel. He growled with frustration as he realized he couldn't tell her. Maybe if he saw her at school tomorrow, if Gloria wasn't keeping him on her tight leash- no pun intended, he thought ruefully.
