Lamento was off in his mind, having a slight lagged response when Rell offered him back the thermal. He gave a small nod, taking the thermal and sipping from it. Mmm, cow blood. His eyes gazed at the crimson liquid inside the container as he licked a trickle from his lips. His eyes began to wander as he listened to the two converse, but out of the corner of his eyes he saw Rell use sign language again. Much faster than just a simple ‘ok’ like last time… Oi, he really was rusty. Actually… he forgot the last time he had seen sign language- much less used it… his friend had died so many years ago, when he himself was only like 30, which he would seem to have been six then. He never understood why he aged so differently.
But the most he caught was that he knew sign language and asked her if she did. Everything in between was a little too fast to get. Lamento silently scolded himself in his mind for slacking off. Maybe if he’d taken the time to practice sign language he wouldn’t be so slow to read it. Lamento gazed back at the twins, wondering why they were silent themselves. Time to start a topic for everyone.
“Sorry to interrupt, but I’ve been wondering who our knew teacher for literature would be. Since Mr. Douala sort of made a one way trip to the padded-room. I heard that someone was supposed to come teach today, but the class is still closed. I have English literature next… Do you know who it might be? I’m curious to know.” He said to all of them, but didn’t turn to the girls as Rell might not be able to read his lips if he did. His steel blue eyes gazed back at the main school building as they sat there outside the main cafeteria. He had been anxious to know who his knew teacher would be, since the last wasn’t very nice and obviously couldn’t handle teaching kids.

Within the faculty office, the sound of the printer etched within the walls. The lady behind the boring gray desk sitting there typing. The floor was an gray and blue carpet, walls painted white with a sitting area farther away from the desk. Back behind that was the principle’s office, to the side was a door that lead to the nurses office as well as the counselor. It was rather dull, so much so that even the poor potted plants couldn’t brighten it up. At the desk stood a rather tall man, over dressed completely. Having a long drench coat like jacket with a wide collar that was folded over his shoulders and chest. His cuffs tailored so that the edge hooked to the outside (sides of the wrist that are opposite to the inside). The wide cuffs and the collar imbedded with small overlapping silver reflecting circles (gah, idk what they are). As the inside was a soft crimson satin. Underneath he wore a long sleeve white dress shirt and black pants.
His eyes were a metallic Alice blue, harshly framed by black eyeliner that thinly emphasized his eye lids. His skin was pale, almost white, unblemished by any form of skin condition. His lips though had a slight purple tint, his skin cold, as if he had died long, long ago. His face framed by long light sandy brown curls that reached to his chest. He was a strange man, almost having a threateningly cold look to him.
“Here you are, Mr. cel- cali….calilio….” she started. But was definitely having trouble pronouncing his name. “Your room is in Building C, second floor, room 209. Students have missed a few days of class already, here is where Mr. Douala left off for each class.” The woman said, placing books on the desk and papers and files and records. “Here is their current work and grades for your class for each student. Each missed homework assignment is on each record so you know how much they are falling behind. And here is the current book for each class.”
“Arigatou, jokyou-shi.” Veleno replied, taking the stack of stuff as if it weighed nothing and walking away.
“Ah, excuse me! One moment.” She said, coming out from behind the desk and clipping a plastic name tag to his collar. Veleno stared at her silently, as if to tell her to back off. But it wasn’t as if he was really thinking that. It was just a name tag was no use. The woman gave a curt smile before retreating behind her desk. He proceeded out the door onto campus to head to his classroom before the bell rang. His strides long and rather swift, though this was how he usually walked. He held the stake of papers and book and files in one hand as he unclipped the nametag from his shirt and placed it on top of the stack as he walked up the cement and metal stair case two steps at a time, turning at the slight plate form and entering the building.
He walked in the hallway and found the classroom. The door having a window in it with the shade pulled down over it. Veleno juggled the stack easily in the palm of his hand as he took the key, pushed it in and turned the slim metal inside it. Hearing a click, he pushed the door open into the dark room and pocketed the key. The room wasn’t set up, the desks piled to the side and the chairs stacked with an empty desk, empty board, empty room…. Just a few counters at the side near the door with some homework bins and some stacked books. The shades of the windows were closed and the room was in utter darkness.
Veleno set the pile of stuff on the desk and turned on the lights, shutting the door and pulling open the shades. Starting to set up the class as he began organizing the desk in rows, easily picking them up and setting them down with chairs and such. He set books down on each table, opening them to a certain page and leaving them there. Then writing his last name on the board, crossing it out, and writing ‘Sensei’ underneath. At the side of the board, he began writing rules.
1) No talking unless called upon
2) Raise your hand if you wish to speak
3) Gum is allowed, but no bubbles
4) Do whatever assignment is given and ask if you need help
5) Always return your homework in on time
6) Do not goof off
7) Bullying, Note-passing, Disobedience, Slipping-grades is not tolerated
8) Whatever I say goes
He put the chalk down, brushing his gloves together and letting the chalk dust come off as he sat down and started looking through the files and current work.
