The boy had completely ignored Emmaline, eyes forward as if she didn’t exist. He didn’t care about her, and it was easy to tell he was a jerk. Lamento didn’t look back at the student across the room, trying to ignore him as best as possible. He was interrupted from his dismal thoughts when Rell touched him, startling him a bit. Lamento gave a sigh when he asked what the other student meant. His dark blue eyes gazed at Rell for a moment before shaking his head, “It’s nothing, just forget about it.” He replied, then pointed towards the teacher to imply to Rell to pay attention.
Veleno closed the book as the bell rang and it was time for class. He easily wrote notes to the people who were even a fraction of a second late. Handing it to them when they walked in. A few minutes passed and he closed and locked the door. Whoever was later than this did not have the privilege to attend today’s class. Veleno set the book on his desk and he leaned against the edge, facing the class. “Begin reading chapter eight that is opened before you. Your assignment is to interpret the meaning in the short story and place that into a story of your own.” He flicked some of his long curly tresses of hair over his shoulder and crossed his arms over his chest. “Those who need help determining the preset meaning, you may raise your hand and ask me for help or your neighbor.”
He watched them in silence as students began directing their eyes to their book, some holding it upright and leaning back in their chair. Lamento began reading as well, though his mind was elsewhere…
