Their eyes had met, and Loki felt glad to see recognition within Evelyn's gaze, as well. At least she hadn't been brainwashed by Hydra into forgetting her past. She'd already suffered losing her memories once before, and Loki would have felt heartbroken for her had it happened again. He watched as Evelyn ducked back into her cell, retreating from those who shot at her. One of the bullets had still managed to strike her, however, and Loki grit his teeth together in anger before firing a round of stunning barbs toward the culprit. The man fell to the ground in a state of shock.
The sweet sound of Evelyn's singing soon met the god's ears, both beautiful in it's melody and terrible in the pain that it caused. Loki tried to bear through it, unwilling to abandon his task of defending her and the others in favor of covering his own ears. He continued to shoot at the oncoming agents and those who eventually were recovering from being stunned and clambering to their feet once more. Something was happening to Bucky, though. The words that the two Hydra men were saying to him had caused the soldier to grow still, and for the agents to cease their attack as if they were anticipating for something to happen. Loki's eyes narrowed, nervousness creeping into his senses as he felt the sudden urge to aim his weapon at Bucky instead, his instincts inexplicably telling him to be wary of the man.
Suddenly, Loki was shoved to the ground by Alex, pushed from the doorway and out into the hall beyond. He gasped when his shoulder collided with the metal of the door's frame, causing the door to begin sliding shut. Before he could even try to climb back to his feet, however, he found himself being dragged rather awkwardly back into the doorway by Valkyrie so that he could be used as a living doorstop. How degrading. Still, he grabbed hold of he metal so that it would not simply crush him and pushed as hard as he could against it, managing to keep it held open for Valkyrie and Sleipnir to exit before finally moving out of it's way and allowing the door to slam shut with a loud clang. At least with Sleipnir within his equine form, escape would be easier for his son, or least he hoped that it would be.
The Winter Soldier had since snapped out of his stillness and was attacking the Hydra agents with a viciousness that somehow managed to momentarily shock even the trickster. Loki stared at the unfolding chaos, wishing that he were at least armed with a dagger. His stunning gun had clattered against the ground during his fall and when the god had grabbed hold of it once more and attempted to use it, he'd found that it no longer worked. It had likely jammed. As it soon it became apparent to him that Bucky was attacking all who were causing him pain, Loki feared that the soldier would turn upon Evelyn due to her singing. "Cover my son's ears." He quickly told Valkyrie, also afraid that Evelyn's powers would truly damage Sleipnir's sensitive ears.
Loki still needed the wall for a bit of support, and his movements were somewhat shaky and hindered by the sedative still lingering in his system, but the trickster god began making his way down the hall and toward the others, occasionally having to duck into the doorway of another cell to avoid being shot. He was nearly tripped again by the damn shackle around his ankles and he paused within the shelter of another cell to quickly bend down and give the devise another fruitless pull. Vibranium, as Oliver had called it, was apparently far too strong for even an Aesir to break. The metal held fast and Loki growled with frustration. He felt useless without his magic.
