Loki Laufeyson Tags: Garth
Surprisingly enough, Loki chose not to run from the scene, or at least not in the literal sense of the word. After all, why should he bolt like a coward? If he hadn't feared for Raina and Leland's safety, he could have leveled those SHIELD agents in a heartbeat. That was what he told himself as he shoved his way through a startled crowd, heading for an alleyway which he knew would lead him out of sight. One man stood directly in his path, holding one of those mobile communication devises that mortals were ever so fond of, filming him as he fled. Loki struck him with the blunt end of his scepter, sending the man and his cellphone crashing to the ground. The small gathered crowd gave a collective gasp. A few of the younger ones screamed. Their human minds were too dim and frightened by the commotion to realize that their best line of action would be to simply move.
They did eventually scatter. One man had tried to grab at his arm, apparently recognizing him, and Loki retaliated by shoving a knife through the human's hand. After that, the crowd spooked, giving Loki a chance to slip into the shadows unseen as they panicked. Or at least he assumed that he had remained unseen. He wasn't aware that he was currently being watched so closely.
Once he reached the alleyway, the God began moving at a quicker pace, winding through the litter-strewn passages. He didn't really know where exactly he was going. There was no place for him anymore. Not really. Once more he thought of how convenient having some sort of base would be. Even the dank underground tunnels that he and he allies had first gathered within during his invasion of earth would have been a welcome sight. Oh, how his standards have lowered. With a slight sigh, Loki briefly stopped. He felt guilty for leaving Raina and Leland behind once more, even though he knew that it was the wisest thing to do. Dragging them through the streets, bloodied and exhausted, was never going to work. And Raina had been pregnant. Norns, what a nightmare.
