Batter sighs a little, looking back at her. "There are things you cannot protect. Like Earth. You can help it, but there will always be the inevitable."

"Well you're a downer.." Amethyst said, leaning back to lay down again. "There's also Pearl, Garnet and Steven..." She added, looking up at Batter. "So 'we'... not me.." She said, staring back up at the sky.

[Zaphod Riker]

"At least you have companions." Batter says, looking around and shrugging as he sees nothing. He was able to hear something though. He tenses up, quiet.

"Yup." Amethyst said, glancing at Batter. "What's up?" She asked, talking about how he shrugged and tensed. She sat up slightly, holding herself up with her arms.

[Zaphod Riker]

Batter remained quiet, before standing up to go check. "Stay here." He says, stern as he goes forward. He had his bat ready and over his shoulder. It turned out to be nothing more than an upside down spectre, but he was able to kill it easily. He comes back a bit later, a bit of black blood splattered on his uniform. He didint seem to care as he just sat down again.

Amethyst sat up on the log, swinging her legs as she waited. "what was it?" she asked, seeing the black splattered on his uniform.

[Zaphod Riker]

"A spectre." Batter asks simply, finding it to be of no importance. He rubs his eyes, still feeling a little drowsy. He hardly ever had good nights sleep though. "What do you fight? Do you fight in general?" He asks, shrugging as he relaxes.

"A spectre?" Amethyst repeated. She paused before answering his question. "Yeah I fight... Other gems sometimes.... Before I got here I had to fight this kid...." She said, thinking of the fight.

Ghirahim looked suspiciously at Andy and Zant, but decided not to press further about. Zant walked on in silence, and soon the silence hung heavy around the group of three. Until something started talking. "Is anyone going to let me out?" the mask hissed.

Pierce smiled lightly with a nod, "Well where to start..." he said softly before smiling, "Let's see it all began during this terrible accident, where four lives were to be lost. But you see there was a man who happened to be traveling in search of someone, he happened to stumble upon the accident. Though from the four lives that were lost because of this accident was the one the man was searching for, overcome with grief he begged the gods above to let one of the people be saved. After many prayers the gods finally let him chose the one he wished to save, the man promising to repay the gods anything they desired for helping him. The gods told him that one day he would have to pay his debt off, though they did not tell him what this debt would be..." he started softly, stroking Ellie's hair gently as he spoke.
