Alois approached the giant window, placing his hands on the table that was directly beneath him in order to support the weight of his body. Noticing that he had yet to take off his coat, he shrugged off the article of clothing and threw it carelessly onto a chair. One of the servants would find it eventually and return it to its rightful spot. He subconsciously leaned in closer to the glass, enjoying the feeling of light on his face, especially after being in the dark for such a long period of time.
Levi was extremely grateful to be away from the man who had bought him, but he had no idea of what was to come. He was only eight years old. He couldn't afford to rent a house. He didn't even have enough money to pay for a decent meal. Of course, the idea of stealing some money had crossed his mind; several times in fact. It would be so easy to do it too, just like taking candy from a child. Living out on the streets for the past couple of months had taught him several tricks. Yet, he had to remind himself that his mother and father had taught him better than that. He would never stoop as low as to take something that didn't belong to him... unless of course what he needed was just lying around in the trash. The boy's ears twitched as he heard a low growl behind him. He whipped his head around just in time to see several stray dogs sniffing the air, and pointing their noses in his direction. "Can't I catch a break for once?" He pleaded quietly to himself. His question was answered as soon as a large dog stepped forward and bounded towards him in a not so friendly manor.
