Username:Name: Emir al-Fatin ibn Kedar al-Hijazi (Emir)
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Personality: Emir has been present in enough of his father's meetings to pick up the art of diplomacy. He is quite capable of handling a rough situation by himself, and he knows that often peace between groups can only be reached through compensation.
Despite knowing how to manipulate people, Emir himself is quite an honest and sincere person. He enjoys getting to know new people, and loves learning about different cultures. However, he's incredibly prejudiced about any scientist in general. He's heard stories about the sorts of experiments that have been performed on Gifted children like him, and he hates them for being capable of doing something so horrendous to another human being. He wishes that he could just live out his life without being afraid of being captured and taken to a lab to become a lab rat.
History: The son of the Saudi ambassador to the United States, Emir has travelled several times to the States with his father on business, but never to New York. More often, they went to Washington, DC, but Emir has felt the pull of New York City ever since he first set foot in the US when he was 11.
Born to a Sunni muslim father, Emir does not consider himself very religious. Although most people assume he is muslim when he tells them he's from Saudi Arabia, Emir actually thinks of himself as agnostic bordering on atheist. His father doesn't argue with his son about his choice of faith; instead, he simply ignores the fact and refuses to bring it up. Likewise, Emir doesn't speak a word of his idea that Allah does not exist. He celebrates Ramadan with his father and follows all of the rules of a Sunni muslim. As compensation, his father gives him quite a lot of freedom regarding his ideals and actions.
His father knows that Emir is Gifted and has tried to keep him safe from most scientists' experiments, but once, when Emir was seven, he got a concussion and broke his leg and had to be taken to the hospital. Scientists working with the hospital took this as their chance to study him more closely and conduct some experiments under the guise of doctors. His father soon found out about the experiments, but he could hardly discharge Emir from the hospital when his leg was still broken. Instead, he stayed in his hospital room whenever he could to make sure that the scientists kept away, hoping that they hadn't already hurt his son. He was too late. His son had already been harmed, in a way that he couldn't have predicted. The real doctors in the hospital were ordered by the scientists to stay out of the room when they were inside, and because of this, they weren't able to keep track of how Emir's leg was healing. The bone healed awkwardly, and left Emir with a slightly twisted leg, much to the anger of his father and the dismay of the now unemployed doctors.
As Emir got older, the tug that New York City had on his heart grew into a persistant pull, and he knew that, somehow, he would be safe there. He all but begged his father to let him go there, and finally, he relented. Emir packed his bags that night and left on the first flight in the morning to Big Apple.
Gift: The gift of tongues, or rather, he understands every human language. He's been able to both speak and read every language in the world without being taught.
